  1. Streaming on Spotify and really digging it. I'll likely pick up a copy tomorrow.
  2. Neat-o. But I'll wait to hear more - "Gave Slave" is interesting but I'm not in love with it. Also I don't listen to much metal these days, and it's certainly not what I tend to play at home in the living room. Especially since I've just moved back into an apartment. Probably just something I'll stream and download if I like it.
  3. I have a 1980 UK reissue of Hunky Dory but I don't have Ziggy (my ex had it so I never bought a copy) - I'm in. Got a link for this? I'm not seeing it. Just the MP3 version (that says Gold Vinyl). Maybe they took it down. Also https://www.amazon.com/Ziggy-Stardust-Spiders-Remastered-Version/dp/B0725FJN58 Actually never mind, I'm just gonna source an older black reissue at some point. I don't need this gold crap.
  4. Just wanted to revisit this thread and say this record really rips. It far exceeded my expectations and I've been playing it a lot.
  5. Oh fucking autotune. Wow. edit: Oh but Brick is completely unexpected and awesome.
  6. It is very plain. Pleasant but without the peaks and variety like 2 and Salad Days.
  7. Mine is banana yellow as well, looks good. But I do prefer the original artwork to the deluxe artwork. That clear looks good, maybe I'll pick up an indie exclusive white and sell my banana.
  8. I think I only have 3: Radiohead - Kid A Radiohead - Amnesiac Ty Segall Band - Slaughterhouse
  9. Oh excellent, thanks for the heads up. I still haven't gotten around to their last album - I read about it before release then couldn't get a hold of it anywhere (physical or digital), and finally it showed up on Bandcamp. But, I haven't gotten to it. New single sounds good. I made a thread for the Institute album yesterday:
  10. I've played it once passively while working, it's likely I didn't pick up on it. Likely won't play it again till I get the LP as I don't like to wear songs out till I can hear it in context with the rest. It didn't stand out to me as one of their best but enough to get me excited for the album.
  11. Institute - Subordination (June 2) Hell yes! I have been anticipating a new one from these lads - love everything they've released so far. I was a bit scared by the press release mentioning hard rock and glam but luckily the first single delivers good old anarcho/post-punk they're known for and doesn't sound like either of those. Curious what the rest of the album will bring. 1. Exhibitionism 2. Only Child 3. Prissy Things 4. All This Pride 5. Oil Money 6. Human Law 7. Too Dumb 8. Good Ol' Boys 9. Powerstation Pre-order here: https://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/collections/frontpage/products/sbr167-institute-subordination ***Limited Edition Version: Edition of 250 hand-numbered copies, comes with alternate screen-printed LP jacket, screen-printed glassine cover, on clear vinyl, wax sealed, and available by mail-order only. ONE PER PERSON LIMIT.***
  12. I listened through the 4th album but the first two are definitely best. I like them equally. I started listening to the song on YouTube. Fucking terrible. Really lame riffing and unnecessarily long intro before those vocals and the terrible mixing became obvious. Holy shit. But again, I haven't listened to anything of his past 1994 so I wasn't expecting to enjoy it.
  13. Not sure what you're getting at, these are just speaker stands and they're a vintage design. Nothing new.
  14. Yeah would be nice for some bands to get angry again but that'll come from younger bands. These guys haven't been good in 10+ years, and this song just sounds like your typical early-mid 00s corporate emo/punk/melodic hardcore stuff. So basically post-Siren Song Rise Against. No interest at all.
  15. Just ordered some Bose PS-06 speaker pedestals for my AR-4x speakers. Hopefully the platform is not too large.
  16. Yeah I like color variants and all but I'm only ever willing to pay up to $5 extra for one over a standard black reissue - assuming I don't have another copy already and find the color appealing and appropriate for the album (in this case they look good).
  17. Digging these 2 especially. I've been following Laughingloone on IG for a while, unfortunately missed their visit to Portland last fall (I'm in Seattle but would have made plans to go down). I've seen the cat before but didn't recall the artist's name. It's another style I really like. I need to plan my next one. Got my first in 20 years last fall - need to continue.
  18. Why is the kerning different on the shirt versus the album cover? Look at the spacing between the D and the A on the shirt. *shudder*
  19. Mission of Burma exclusives would be tempting if I hadn't picked up a black Vs. reissue recently, and if they weren't so fucking EXPENSIVE. $27.99 for single albums. I could deal with $24.99 single LPs when I first started buying from them, especially with free shipping above $75. But high 20s is a joke. I know, we've been over this.
  20. Damn what a bunch of twats. Got shipping notice too. I'll be surprised if it arrives at the end of next week, as that would still be a week early.
  21. Digging that 3rd one up, but I'll be happy with any of them and won't trade because it doesn't matter.
  22. I liked Keep It Hid. I haven't enjoyed anything The Black Keys have done since Brothers. This song is crap.
  23. Same. I don't often go for live albums, but there are some that stuck with me because they were either my intro to the band or just have amazing variations of songs I love. The ladder applies to this one. "So What" itself is worth the price of admission. Wish I'd been able to see them on this tour. Used to have the VHS, and wish the CD/vinyl had the full set. But I'll be getting this soon enough.
