The thread formerly known as 'ty segall'

Real bummer about Drag City's lack of DL codes. All of Ty's latest albums have had a really thick sleeve. Glad to hear the new one is similar. -

I just got my Naxos PDF Invoice with tracking number this afternoon. LOL -
Not sure how long the pre-order has been up, but I figure some folks would be interested. CD, black heavyweight, and colored vinyl options available. Produced by Kevin Parker, like the last album Man It Feels Like Space Again. http://www.pondband.net/ Side A 30000 Megatons Sweep Me Off My Feet Paint Me Silver Colder Than Ice Edge Of The World Pt. 1 Side B A/B Zen Automaton All I Want For Xmas (is a Tascam 388) Edge Of The World Pt. 2 The Weather

PO Now: Blind Melon - Soup - Reissue
jeromium replied to GazHilarant's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
It's possible I overlooked the email in my junk mail, or haven't received it yet. When I click the "View your order" link in my original confirmation email, the page simply states: We've accepted your order, and we're getting it ready. A confirmation email has been sent to (email). Come back to this page for updates on your order status. -

Official Newbury Comics Reissue Thread

I recently picked up a 1985 copy of this, otherwise I might consider it. However, I had done some reading up on the sound quality of various issues because as we know it's a very noisy album and I didn't want to buy something that lacked any warmth. I'd read some reviews about the Rhino reissues before jumping on this, just in case.- 2,219 replies

All I want is some new Dillinger Four. Someone hit me up when that happens. -
[PO] Pinback - Some Offcell Voices
jeromium replied to radiatorhums's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'm happy to see this NOT be associated with RSD or worse, BFRSD. Thanks for the Man Man tip! -
I'be been in Mexico for a week so it reads perfectly normal to me.

PO NOW: The Shins - Heartworms

I disliked Port of Morrow, but really love the first three albums. "Dead Alive" sounded better than Port of Morrow as a whole, so I have hope. "Name For You" is less appealing after one listen, but not necessarily bad. A bit shallow and perhaps overly pop and glossy though. I really like the artwork. I'm not keen to spend $30 on this, but I'm still tempted by the Newbury version as I have their Chutes Too Narrow and Wincing the Night Away color variants. I will hold off though. One good single, one mediocre single, and a bad experience with the previous album. -
It's been a while since I've played any NIN. Although Hesitation Marks was the first studio album I didn't purchase, I did listen to it once. I just listened to the new track "Burning Bright (Field on Fire)" for the first time, and I gotta say I'm impressed. It's hard to compare to post-Fragile work as I haven't listened in quite some time, but I know one thing that has bothered me on the more recent albums is the polished vocals. This track feels very gritty to me both musically and vocally, therefore reminds me of older NIN material. So that's great. Curious to hear the rest - wonder if it'll stream anywhere other than Apple Music.

I think I'm gonna have to get Broken - my favorite NIN release. Still have my 1992 CD with bonus 3".

Sioux Falls - Rot Forever via BWM
jeromium replied to dantheriver's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Finally decided to order this too, though I've been listening to it since February. It's certainly going to end up in my top 10 this year. Slight frustration with the Brickhouse site though. From the shopping cart, you click "Proceed to Checkout" and you then fill out your Billing Address and Shipping Address. Then, the only payment option is PayPal. Which is great, except why are they wasting my time asking for that information when it's already stored in PayPal? Sorry to vent on what may be trivial to most - it's what I do for a living.- 70 replies

PO SOON?: At the Drive-In -New LP
jeromium replied to xfactor675's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I listened to it once last week and it sounded like a new song ATDI would release in 2016 after a long time of not releasing new material. That's neither awesome or awful. Looking forward to the album and tour, as long as they don't play the shitty venue they played last time. -
PO SOON: Pile - A Hairshirt of Purpose [3/21]
jeromium replied to WAXXX's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Cool, I like Pile. Although for some reason I didn't listen to You're Better Than This nearly as much as the previous three.
