I asked RD for an update on facebook after seeing a post about peppermint daydream.  Here's the reply I got:
"Well, all our hallabaloo got the attention of David Elliott, the man in question. He gave me a list of excuses as to why the records aren't here but attempted to assure me that they are still coming. I asked him for the contact for the pressing plant and he deflected, I asked him again and he hasn't responded, that was 10 days ago. I need to find out how we can all sue him. I don't have any free time to go down that rabbit hole at the moment though..."

I am now the proud of owner of the entire catalog of "Rock Paper Stupid" !

The label must have bribed the band with that sweet guitar to buy them more time. 

I don't think PayPal existed yet when this preorder went up. 

I love this album. Maybe he'll make another before the dawn heals us or something so everyone can be his fan again. Or whatever album people are holding onto.

the self titled album took the band into a more mature direction and now without Tom, and it feels like they tried to go back to where they were at TOYPAJ. California is a good album but it doesn't make sense in the progression of the band. The run time of the album is really short and filling the lyrics with "o's" and "na-na" seems like they didn't give it their full effort. 

Does this mean Box Car Racer isn't too far off now?

Record is the wackest of wack. And I have been a fan of this band for almost 20 goddamn years.

So bummed over this record. As a huge fan of Trio and Blink, I thought this would be a summer banger. It's soulless, generic garbage. None of Skiba's influence comes across in the songs. It sounds nothing like +44, I don't know why anyone would compare it to that. It just reeks of a John Feldman steered ship.

I agree that it's over produced, but there are some great songs on the record. San Diego  and Cynical stood out the most in the first listen. It's a step up from "Dogs Eating Dogs."

So I included Ringo Deathstarr in my tweet the label, and the band responded saying they haven't been updated since January either.  I then asked them if they could reach out to the label.  See what happens.

You should listen to it. Not liking this album wont retroactively ruin past M83 albums for you.
 
It might not be what most people are looking for out of an M83 record, but musically it's totally competent. 

Time Wind is a legitimate jam.. and the first two minutes of Laser Gun are great.

No one wants Island In The Sun Pt. II.But seriously, Jacked Up is one the best Weezer songs in a long time. I love it just the way it is, especially Rivers' voice.

I downloaded this and gave it a shot.  Holy fuck, California might be the most annoying song ever created.
