No issues on my copy...I'm guessing you just got a flawed copy. Bummer for you, obviously, but not an overall pressing error. In other news, this is officially the first SN album I've actually enjoyed listening to.

I loathe Danbury because I generally just loathe Connecticut. It's an irrational hatred born out of having to drive I84 every time I want to visit my folks, and I84 is a parking lot for about 65 miles no matter what time of day it is. Even though I'm from western PA and therefore sick to death of people saying "oh, Pittsburgh, that's right next to Philly isn't it?" I actually really love Philly. Except the Flyers. And the Eagles. Mütter Museum is cool as hell, 30th St. Station is gorgeous, there's a pretty awesome music scene...yeah, Philly' s alright.

I've been tinkering with getting back into photography since discovering that my phone (Galaxy S7 edge) has a beast of a camera. I'm entirely a hobbyist, so I'm sure someone with actual knowledge of photography could probably tear these to shreds, but here's a few that have been sitting on my memory card since Christmas that I somewhat fancy. I took these at work, using the stock camera app, pro setting (I think?) and no filters. No editing after the fact either, because I didn't realize until recently that I can shoot in RAW made as well.

That Amazon Prime account came through for me, and my power supply is here! Got the table all hooked back up, and am spending the evening listening to records after not being able to do so for almost 2 weeks. Definitely not a big fan of having my system down for the count.

Turns out I did NOT get the God's Eye variant...apparently I ordered Cosmic Vein, which looks much different in the flesh than it did in the mock up. Still cool though, and this album is a ripper.

Got the notice that my power supply shipped yesterday. Couldn't get here soon enough...having my turntable out of commission for a week has been shit.

I mean, yeah, I was being a tad hyperbolic. It does have a kind of unfocused symphonic feel to it at times though. I've only listened to it maybe five or six times, but I really do enjoy it. It fills that "something for me to listen to while I try to write" niche perfectly. Still like "Bloom" the best out of their discography though.

So, is this the thread where I can talk about the new Braveyoung record, and how to me it sounds an awful lot like someone watched a symphony orchestra warming up before a performance and thought "yeah, that was cool, but what if it had SOME DRONE SOUNDS" and I can't quite put my finger on why I like this record so much, but I do?

I was supposed to go see Mono tonight, but the gf is under the weather, so we skipped out. She's bummed because she really loves them, I'm slightly more indifferent...as far as staving off boredom, I'm on day 2 of my 30-day free trial of Prime, so I guess I'll just watch all 3 seasons of Bosch or something. Maybe bust out some Skyrim.

It just occurred to me that I can't remember which the hell variant I actually bought. I think I went with God's Eye. Guess I'll find out when it gets here.

Got the entire weekend free, and...a dead power supply on my turntable. I ordered a replacement, but it's not even scheduled to ship until Tuesday.

I got my copy for $34 shipped, which I didn't think was too bad. It was a random impulse purchase, so I probably could have gotten it cheaper if I'd kept looking, but not gonna complain.

Stupid question probably, but Google has been less than helpful... My power adapter for my Debut Carbon (15vDC) just went kaput today. I also happen to have a Speed Box S (16vAC power adapter) which (because I was a dumbass and didn't double check compatibitly) doesn't work on my turntable BUT it does provide power to spin the platter. The speed adjustment doesn't work, but it does technically provide power to the motor. The question is, can I use the Speed Box as a temporary solution while I order a new power adapter, or would that risk damaging my table? I don't want to go 3 or 4 days without being able to listen to records, obviously, but I even more don't want to fry my TT doing something stupid. Smarter than me folks, please advise?

I purchased this yesterday under the assumption it would work with my turntable. Turns out, I'm a bit of a clod, and didn't check the voltage - my TT is a 15vDC Pro-Ject Debut Carbon, and is incompatible with the 16vAC output of the SpeedBox. This item is essentially brand new; I hooked it up, realized it didn't work, double checked everything, then repackaged it. I don't want to have to drive an hour back down to Boston to return it, so I'm offering it here. I paid $138 for it after MA sales tax - I'll sell it for $120 shipped if anyone wants it...take advantage of my blunder, why not? I'm happy to provide pictures if anyone wants. Well...technically my latest purchase is a Speed Box S. Was browsing in Cambridge yesterday & found a sweet little audio shop that had one in stock. Unfortunately I made a goddamned rookie mistake & forgot to actually check the voltage on my table before I left home, so when I asked the guy at the store if it would work on my Debut Carbon, he said "absolutely" & I dropped $138 after stupid MA sales tax, only to discover this morning that I have the 15vDC model not the 16vAC version? Needless to say, I now have a brand-new-but-useless Speed Box sitting on my desk.

Oh, fuck, we're REQUIRED to do this? Piss off. Call the cops.

So now, I either have to make ANOTHER trip to Boston today & try to return it, OR sell a brand new Speed Box that I paid $138 for after taxes for a loss. Anyway, anyone here looking for a Speed Box? I'll sell it with everything still in the box for $110 + shipping, which would be what I paid for it minus the $22 a bus ticket back to Boston would cost me.
