  1. Morning everyone. I woke up with a headache, and it hasn't shown any potential for going away anytime soon. Happy Friday, y'all.
  2. The results are in...and...BreaKBeatZ is the winner, in a landslide victory!
  3. Yo, Matt, that new cabinet is freaking gorgeous. You have one of the best setups of anyone I've seen posting here.
  4. For some reason I kept thinking that I hadn't listened to much new music this year, then I ran through my iTunes and realized I have 30 albums in my 2016 playlist. I have no idea what order I would put them in, so here's just an alphabetized list of my top 10. * Big Jesus - Oneiric * The Body - No One Deserves Happiness * Cult of Luna & Julie Christmas - Mariner * Deftones - Gore * Neurosis - Fires Within Fires * Oathbreaker - Rheia * O'Brother - Endless Light * Russian Circles - Guidance * Sumac - What One Becomes * Touche Amore - Stage Four
  5. Does anyone have pressing info on the half and half splatter with shards picture disc variant?
  6. Do we still have the thread for Android stuff, or did that die out while I was away? Figured someone here might know why whenever I try to root my S7 Edge, I lose the ability to send texts.
  7. Anything that involves Mike Minnick fronting a band again is good news to me. Super excited for this one.
  8. I found an original pressing of this a couple months ago for cheap, so I don't need this one, but Eroding Winds/Gilead are good people in my experience, and it's cool to see this album getting some attention again.
  9. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I was just at this place in Vernon, CT this weekend called "records - the good kind" - sort of a corny name for a shop, but it had a surprisingly good selection, and reasonable prices. http://recordsthegoodkind.com/ 435 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon CT
  10. I honestly can't even remember if I went to 10 shows this year, but seeing Bane's last show in Worcester was pretty fuckin' cool. SUMAC in a tiny ass art gallery/show space in Portsmouth, NH with like 30 other people was incredible too. O'Brother & Big Jesus at Great Scott in Boston was the shit. Also, self-indulgent maybe, but I just got done playing a weekend with Old Gray & Soul Glo, and our show at Shea Stadium in Brooklyn was probably somewhere in my top 20 of all time. Both as a spectator and a participant.
  11. There's not anything in the Russian Circles discography that I don't love, but Pelican pretty much bores the hell out of me, and I don't have any idea why that is.
  12. I've seen Converge 27 times. It's been a few years since the last time I saw them (Deathwish Fest in Boston, 2014 I think?) but even after seeing them 20+ times they're a hell of a live band to see. Saw them about a decade ago at a Moose Lodge in Pittsburgh...no stage. Playing mostly songs off of YFM. Nate was about as big a troll as I've ever seen him be. It was awesome.
  13. The only album of theirs I've ever really liked is Point #1, but if that gets a vinyl pressing, sign me right the hell up.
  14. I mean, if they don't do it for you, that's cool because tastes are subjective, but for what it's worth, Guidance might be one of the most perfectly sequenced albums I've heard on vinyl. Both sides work as complete clauses that hold up entirely well on their own, but also the A-side is REALLY well reinforced by the B-side. I think this new record just sounds more menacing than their previous work. Memorial was nasty and heavy as hell, but Guidance sounds like it'll take you out behind the barn & beat the hell out of you without even getting winded.
  15. Hey, so I haven't posted on VC in like 6 months, so will y'all murder me if I just pop in here real quick to say that the new Russian Circles record is stupid fucking good? I'm sure y'all already talked about that record a while ago, but I'm still drooling over it.
  16. Came back to these boards tonight for the first time since May, already I've ordered 2 albums because of it.
  17. Hi Smalltalk. I haven't posted in like 6 months. Now I'm back...yeah...
  18. I don't hate the vocals on ToT, but they're definitely not my favorite part of the record. I definitely dig this record though - it's not AOTY for me by any stretch, but might end up a top 10. It reminds me of some band I used to listen to in high school, and I can't think who...but at the same time, it sounds pretty fresh, and less dated than other 90's Worship bands I've heard.
  19. OK Computer is dope. Other than that, I won't lose any sleep over this assertion.
  20. Pens had a cup in '09, so it hasn't been THAT long. However, I'm a Pittsburgh boy, so I'm hoping they win another.
  21. You know that thing people do where they ignore a thing that's popular for a really long time, just because they think it looks stupid, and then one day out of boredom they finally check it out, and then it turns out that thing they thought was fuckin' DUMB is actually kinda cool? Which is to say, I'm watching Supernatural on Netflix now, and it doesn't suck. Also, howdy Small Talk! I missed y'inz.
