  1. Yup. Grabbed that /300 mix. I doubt it'll look like the mockup (they never do) but other similar mixes from DW have always looked sweet, so I'm expecting this will too.
  2. Just finished spinning my copy. Sounds great, looks pretty...everything I typically want in a record. I had some question as to how much I would enjoy Dalek without Oktopus doing production; turns out the answer is "as much I did all the previous records."
  3. Hi again Small Talk. I've been trying to spend this whole month writing poems, so I've been staying away from time sinks like internet forums & the like. But I miss y'all. How's everyone been?
  4. I got one a few years ago when I moved into an actual city. I pay about $80 a year for the convenience of not having to worry about getting my mail stolen, which to be honest, is worth it.
  5. Morning y'all. I fell asleep last night at about 930 and didn't wake up until my alarm went off at 7. I feel great...caught up on some of the sleep I lost the night before, not getting home from that O'Brother show until 2am.
  6. Maybe the intended pressing was 3000, and it came 80 short because of acceptable margins of over/under run?
  7. Morning, y'all. O'Brother was awesome last night. They played a really good selection of stuff from Garden Window, which made me happy...and they played it tuned down half a step, which made it just STUPIDLY heavy. Malum at that tuning was just goddamned ignorant, and I loved it. Big Jesus was good too. Super riffy, super heavy. Didn't get home until 2am, up for work by 7, and I'm working all the way till tomorrow at 5pm. Today's gonna be rough.
  8. Feel better Juan! May your days be filled with T-Swift gift sets that you've never even seen before!
  9. On my way to Allston to see O'Brother, Frameworks, and Big Jesus tonight. Stoked to see Obro again, less stoked about a 9pm door time, and an hour drive back home afterwards.
  10. I know first class postage is going down by two cents per stamp, so it wouldn't surprise me if media mail got cheaper too.
  11. Also, new Deftones is super good, and the whole gatefold artwork is really pretty, and now I don't even hate the cover with the fucking flamingos because it's 2016 and I'm listening to a new Deftones record. By the by, does anyone happen to have an upload of that? The records didn't come with download codes.
  12. Being in your 30's and still into hardcore & punk is great for those kinda moments. Because all the bands that kids go bugfuck for in 2016 were playing VFW shows in 2002.
  13. Picked my copy up from Bullmoose tonight, spinning side B as I type. This record is good. I'm glad I waited to hear anything other than P/T until I could listen to the actual vinyl. My white copy sounds just fine, too, so I guess I'm lucky? I dunno...this is exactly what I expected it to be: a new Deftones record. I'm happy with it.
  14. Morning, Small Talk...how's everyone doing today? I'm congested as hell, couldn't sleep for shit last night, and woke up at 7:30 on a goddamned Saturday. On the plus side, I think my girlfriend and I are taking a trip to Armageddon Shop in Boston today...haven't been there in a while.
  15. I believe he'd been recently hospitalized with pneumonia, so it's not terribly out of left field, but still...bummer to see another great musician go.
  16. Of the Outlaws, only Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson are left. http://www.turnto23.com/news/local-news/country-music-legend-merle-haggard-turned-79-years-old-wednesday
  17. This thread reminds me that I still need to pick up that last Marriages record.
  18. I never used to start sentences with "I mean," but then I moved to NH.
  19. Morning Smalltalkers. How y'all doing...anything exciting happen lately?
  20. I got really into Blue back when I was in college, with access to high speed internet for the first time in my life, and Napster having just broken out. I went back and listened to it today, and realized I like Weezer better as a fond memory than anything else.
  21. I haven't listened to anything other than the Prayers/Triangles single yet, I figure I might as well wait another few days & just hear these songs for the first time when I put the records on my turntable.
  22. These are the only two releases of theirs I can still listen to. I still remember the hype leading up to DBL, when they were debuting songs from that record at Cornerstone and played everything all mysterious...taped off the entire stage with black plastic so no one could see their set up, wouldn't even let people with press credentials behind the curtain... Then the big reveal, of...SURPRISE! some laser lights and a 2nd guitarist.
  23. Morning y'all. I just woke up from a very realistic dream, in which my dad came over to my apartment (which is a 13hr drive, just so we're clear) and took a sledgehammer to my record collection because I listen to "devil music" and needed to be saved. Scariest dream I've had in years.
