Oooh, I'll have to check that out later - I haven't actually opened up any of the LPs themselves to play yet! Thank you! -

Just to make sure I'm not missing something, this box is supposed to come with a booklet right? If so, I need to send some emails! -
PO Now: American Football - LP3 (3/22/2019)
Mattallurgist replied to zaoza's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
This is why I'm trying to hold out! I love digging through and hearing new stuff each week, but if it's an album I'm excited for you know it's gotta be done right. My living room has lots of natural light but no overhead lighting, so the second it gets darker and a couple of lamps go on I'm quite lucky to have a real nice space for exactly this. I'm still real jealous of the smart lighting though, hoping for pics of this so I can live vicariously through them! -

Since streaming got so easy and my record collection got bigger I've been way better at holding off for release dates, but this is a test. Thanks for the heads up about the 320 rip, that would have got me to cave I think! -

Can't buy El Cielo on vinyl, but I can buy the album cover on a $50 pillow. Nice. -
Ah! Thank you, I didn't see that mentioned. Probably good I didn't just give it to someone already!

Mine came yesterday, it looks INCREDIBLE. They've done such a great job! I haven't seen a box set with that cut-out before. The handwritten note and polaroid are both really nice little touches too. If it sounds half as good as it looks I'll be very happy. I did seem to get a second Copeland CD in my parcel for some reason though, in a plastic sleeve outside the box...no explanation so if any of you are missing one I might have it!

I know this is a cliche thing to say when someone hasn't heard something you love yet, but I am so jealous of you right now.

It's all really, really good. It's hard to pick out a particular favourite but Terrors jumped out at me straight from the off, for how unusually 'uplifting' it sounds. I dunno if that's quite the right word for it, but I'm all for it. The EP is a nice little companion too, definitely some Mogwai vibes - a bit like the Home & Minor EP, which might be my favourite 'size release! As for the FLAC, I got a bandcamp link - you should be able to pick FLAC as an option by clicking on the format it offers you, unless it's changed of late?

I know, I was surprised too. -

I caught them at Arctangent festival over here at the weekend. They played Grand Paradise, Heartbeats, Nearer My God and Slapstick from the new record. IT SLAPPED - probably my favourite set over the whole weekend. I'd seen them before so I had a rough idea what I was getting into, but on a festival stage with great sound they were legitimately on another level. I'm dying to see them again already! -
El Ten Eleven - Banker's Hill (Out August 10th)
Mattallurgist replied to highfives's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yes! I've always liked their records but never loved them. They sound properly big this time, and I'm all in for it. Maybe it's the studio recording?
