I hope Finch does do their own press of this! Between the original not having the title track and these glaring faults on this press, maybe the band would care to get it properly done.

You know, I would really like to know why the labels were done like LP1/Side A LP2 Side A etc. and not A,B,C,D? It is overall just confusing!

Also, this release is all sorts of fucked up. Too much time spent trying to figure out how to exclude vinyl from hot cash, not enough time spent on quality control.

The area i live in known as the "South Bay", which is a beautiful beach community in So.Cal between Long Beach & Santa Monica, has been without a independent record store for roughly the last 8-10 years. The South Bay has a rich music history being home to many classic bands ranging from Black Flag, Descendents, Pennywise to The Beach Boys.
 
A big part of me growing up was me and my dad taking weekend trips to the record store and my relationship with my best friend grew because of both of our involvement with local bands so naturally this is a partnership that has been a long time coming.
 
Currently we are in the process of looking for a location.
 
So my question is, does anyone on these boards have any insider knowledge or tips. Wither it's distros, store supplies like racks or just any little quarks that may not be general knowledge about running a record store.
 
We will also be launching a online store, which already exsists but primarily focuses on t-shirts which is consumermerch.com we have yet to decide but the store will most likely be Consumer Records. We are hoping to open our doors just before summer time rolls around.

ooof. Just recieved it USPS, opened it and noticed that I got 2 copies of LP1. The center labels on what should be LP2 are marked, LP2 Side 1 and LP1 Side B, and the etching on both LPS are marked LP1. Huge bummer, did this happen to anyone else?

Here I am at 3:30 in the morning waking myself up with an idea haha. But how about incorporating a design like the "Finch WIITB//// X - 10" that has been used along with some sort of image that everyone is taling about.

Something like that would be cool, but maybe a little different looking in case FINCH ever decide to put out that e.p.(so their wouldn't be duplicates)  --Maybe they would release that E.P. on a 12' with a b-side of the last E.P. --

Quick mockup playing with ideas.  I personally dig the idea of a teal logo on black, to match the vinyl variant.  Simple = cheap design.  A secondary color could be incorporated if need be, but I'm sure costs would be a bit lower if we stuck with one.
 
Added a bit of faux-glare to replicate a metallic ink, but I imagine that'd be much more expensive, if possible at all.  It'd be sweet, but I could live without it.  Also not positive about the placement of the logo -- centered could be a decent.

Finally snagged this one after years and years of searching. Released over 20 years ago in limited quantities, legend has it that 500 copies were made but in 1992 Hurricane Andrew wiped out their warehouse where these LPs were stored. 100 were completely destroyed, and 150 were left badly warped. Most of the copies that were ever in circulation went to radio stations sent by the band.  So happy i found this very nice copy for a really decent price.
 

People buy physical media for the music as well as the artwork.
If it was just the music then people would download shitty itunes files.

Today at work (I work at FYE) some lady brought some records to sell us. There was some Alice Cooper, some Aerosmith, some Kid Rock, etc. So I'm pricing these things and at the bottom of the stack, I kid you not, is a sealed US red/white copy of Elephant by The White Stripes. My manager decided to sell it at retail value since it was still sealed and in our system PLUS I have a discount so I paid $10 for it. Looks like I won't go for that RSD repress.
