Did anyone on this board actually ever order from a true mailorder when you mailed a money order and a record showed up 3 months later that you totally forgot about.
 
This world has become about instant gratification.
 
I get people on discogs asking me 24 hours later if I shipped their package.

The same argument can be made for nearly everything that is sold for a profit. Yet no one goes "Oh my gawd this grocery store bought all this food without the intention of eating it?!?! They bought all this food for the sole purpose of selling it for a profit? WTF?!?!"
 
It's a dumb and useless thing to get angry about. Bitching about flippers isn't suddenly going to make the principles of supply and demand no longer apply to the medium.
 

I don't think it has anything to do with profiting.  It's more about the fact that the dude has owned the same record on three separate occasions -- the last of which has resulted in a copy that he's not even going to open or play.  He's holding onto the album solely to flip it... and it's an album that he's clearly not all that crazy about to begin with.  That is what's being frowned upon, more or less.
 
For clarification, I didn't neg his post.  Just providing a little insight.

I've had three copies of You Are My Sunshine pass through my hands. Sold the first two for $50ish and $115, respectively. I cannot believe what people will pay for that. I have a sealed copy now and as bad as I want to open it, I know it'll probably never get repressed and I can just cash in later on.

I can't believe someone gave me a -1 for just stating a fact.

I got the same call just a minute ago haha. Kings Road Merch has always had great customer support and treated me well but this was a seriously classy move on their part for something that really wasn't their fault.
 
And really I was just stoked to hear that the record will be on it's way soon. I've been avoiding any leaks/downloads so that I can sit down with it and have a great first listen experience.

Do what ever the fuck you want. No one cares what you do with your records.

Ha. I'll pass but thanks for the advice. If someone offers a trade but doesn't want to do it bc of the reasons or how I obtained a record then that's ok. I'm sure someone else will happily take it off my hands

learn from your slip of judgment and good board member etiquette since you're new and sell it to him at cost! You'll redeem yourself and make a couple of friends possibly Toki is a good dude and helps a lot of people out. If you plan on sticking around these boards, you might even see good karma come your way if you miss something you want.

went ahead and grabbed a red as well.  possibly trading a smoke, so i may have another smoke for sale.  haven't decided if i should keep, trade, or sell the 2nd smoke yet.

just got home from vacation to find my two copies of this in the mail stacks.

I'm kinda upset that I haven't even received my shipping confirmation for the deluxe. I emailed two times and still no reply either.

I have an OG pressing of the deluxe edition. I want to know the details of the packaging and mastering for this press... My disks are NM but the cover got stains on it from the previous owner. :'(

Got this in the mail yesterday.  The shirt is lame, but the record is pretty cool. Here are a couple pics comparing this BCBS release with the MTS release from a few years ago.
 
the BCBS release is advertised as 180gram, but it doesn't seem quite that hefty.  In fact the MTS release is noticeably heavier.  The MTS release also comes in that sweet gatefold and has bonus tracks.  They both sound great, I'd give a slight nod to the MTS release though.
