  1. So, I finally tracked down a copy of this (to my amazement a local shop had this and the live album from RSD) and it's pretty solid. The quality is really good, includes some interesting covers, reworking of a few tracks and some other unreleased stuff that wouldn't sound out of place on Lucky Jim. For diehards only I'd say but I'm happy to have it. The live album is pretty good too.
  2. These are now shipping. Deluxe and colored versions are gone but black vinyl is still available.
  3. I say this about every FF record. I love the first album but the rest are pretty hit and miss with me. I really hope this is different from the normal FF record.
  4. The only 2 QOTSA albums I'm not really into are Lullabies and Era Vulgaris. Both of those albums have their moments but the first 3 I hold in such high regard that it was almost impossible for my expectations to be met and that's kind of unfair. I did enjoy Like Clockwork quite a bit but I hope this new one is a little heavier. That little clip sounded pretty good.
  5. Sale ends in less then 2 hours if you want to get a last minute order in!
  6. Finally got around to listening to this and so far I'm really liking it. I think Dead Roots is still my favorite from the band but that may change once I have more time with this new one.

  8. Should be good to go now, for some reason the switch I flipped didn't work the first time.

  10. Just a heads up, Black Mark is pressing this (same label that does all that Bathory presses) and from what I've heard it's only coming out on "heavyweight black vinyl". One of my distributors already has it in stock so it should be hitting shops any day now. Swano fans may also be interested to know that Nightingale's Nightfall Overture has also been repressed by the same label.
  11. Got mine from Sonic Cathedral today. The shitty UK mailer had me worried (had creases on all 4 corners) but it arrived with only a minor corner ding. Looking forward to spinning this later tonight.
  12. If you wanna sell that free copy cheap let me know. My local store is out and the wholesale cost is not too far from regular retail.
  13. You should give Neil Halstead's solo stuff a shot too if you haven't already (and Black Hearted Brother).
  14. To be honest, his solo shows were my favorite. He would always play 2 and a half to 3 hour sets and his stories in between songs were always great and he seemed like such a nice, humble and poetic person. Out of all the musicians that have died during my lifetime, this one hurts the most.
  15. Man, totally crushed by this. My wife and I danced to Chris's cover of "Thank You" at our wedding and we just saw him with Temple of the Dog in LA last year. To me he was the voice of Seattle.
  16. I'm intrigued. I'll give the album a full listen before deciding on a purchase though.
  17. I'm actually glad I can help a small label. Sub Pop is cool and all but they're owned by Warner now and I doubt they'd have much interest in releasing something like this these days anyway.
  18. All 3 of their albums are great, especially their debut Clean As A Broke-Dick Dog, which they released on Sub Pop back in 1992. You can grab all of them on vinyl for under $20 usually.

  20. It'll be in my top 5 for sure. The only track I'm having some trouble getting into is the last one. My only complaint is I wish the album was a little longer. Seems like all the albums I really like this year (Ulver, Lanegan and this) are under an hour and it just makes me want more.
