The DeltaPlex has the worst sound of any venue I've been to. It echoes.

Barry Zito reacted to holyvacantsholyhell in New Color Vinyl for Glass Candy/Chromatics/Desire - IDIB
Yeah, no. Good luck getting IDIB fans to turn on them. They treat their fans well and this makes sense to me. They’re obviously trying to keep this tour and it’s setup under wraps and are working towards announcing dear tommy. Pretty sure JJ didn’t mean to personally sleight you. If they wanted to screw fans they wouldn’t charge $18 for triple LPs and ensure there’s essentially zero market for flipping their releases with constant represses the second something sells out

Man, I don't know - that absolutely sucks your accounts are getting dinged but I find it hard to call it crummy, or even wrong. If posting concert videos is completely legal and not going against any copyright policy for the venue, musician, set designer, anything, then I'd have to blame YouTube here for allowing that flagging to be allowed. But I always thought concert videos, while often ignored, are absolutely subject to being removed.
These guys aren't very big, currently on a tour and trying to sell tickets. I guess you could argue that the videos will encourage others to go to a show but I can see why the artist wouldn't agree.

Barry Zito got a reaction from buddha4281 in Best Ever Math Rock Album
I definitely came here to see Lynx brought up.
One of my best friends' bands opened for Lynx in late 1999 at a tiny place in Kalamazoo, MI (Harvey's on the Mall, if anyone knows the area), and there were about three people at the show in addition to the opening bands. He struck up a conversation with the drummer about Slint, bought their 3 song EP, and discussed that they (Lynx) finally found the studio they were going to record their album at (which was Soma, owned by John McEntire of Tortoise/Bastro/The Sea & Cake/etc) and that Bob Weston was going to record it.
I think the album is so hard to come by because it came out on a really small arm of the old Southern group of labels, Box Factory. I don't think Box Factory Records put out more than 10 releases overall, leaving this album to get lost in the mix.
Both the album and the EP (which has different recordings of two songs that are also on the album, Prynx [then called Nighthush] and Mrs Lynx, and one exclusive to the EP) are some of my most listened to CDs of the last 20 years, easily.

Never feel guilty about any music you listen to & artists/bands you love. Ain’t no shame.

Barry Zito got a reaction from hsp88 in Psychotica 7" HAND-POURED & NUMBERED
This is super cool! I was just lamenting to myself the other day that the first Psychotica album and Espina would likely never see vinyl releases, so this 7" is both unexpected and very welcome.

Barry Zito got a reaction from Roandy55 in PO: Queenadreena - The Butcher and The Butterfly
I am so glad this is getting repressed, and I jumped on it immediately. This record is incredible and I've loved Katie Jane since her days in Daisy Chainsaw.

I have that boot, as well as one called "Mud Pigs," which has an adequate mix too. I should take the two of them and make a monstrously adequate mix...
