  1. yeah... jason sent an email to everyone yesterday regarding this and the cd version.... psyched for the b sides and demos, especially XD-data 2 (my fave b-side... first time on vinyl) although, i wish the hewlett's daughter demo was on the vinyl.. has anybody listened to the control group reissues? i have the original releases from v2 and big cat U.K.... curious of the sound quality. hopefully... windfall varietal gets a proper vinyl release.
  2. so in 2010... polyvinyl announced a 5-part 7" series to be released that year. 3 have been released so far.... what about the 4th and 5th?
  3. for those curious about the colored vinyl from male bonding... here's sub pop's reply: "1st pressing will be on colored vinyl for online here and mom and pop stores, but there are some black ones available overseas."
  4. the $19.98 price includes bonus download remixes, a DVD, and a poster.... the black vinyl doesn't, hence, the lower price.
  5. 1000 on blue for $19.98... http://www.insound.com/Tarot-Classics-Limited-Edition-12inch-Surfer-Blood/P/INS98279/ 2000 on black for $11.98....
  6. One of my fave releases of the year, thus far... In honor of the 10-year anniversary of "Record In Red", Joyful Noise Recordings is reissuing all four of Marmoset's full-length albums on vinyl (including, for the first time ever on LP, 1999's "Today It's You" and 2009's "Tea Tornado"). The LPs will be released in a limited edition box set, packaged in a custom-built wooden box, elaborately screen-printed, hand-numbered, and limited to 100 copies. Pre-order the box set for $54 here: http://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/catalog/jnr83 Or, you can order just Today It's You for $12 here: http://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/catalog/jnr82 Also included in this box set is: (1) an INSTANT download of the band's entire catalog (2) a 40 page mini-booklet containing an extended bio, interviews, anecdotes, and lyrics (3) FOUR digital EPs of outtakes from each album (totaling 24 unreleased bonus tracks) Thanks for supporting Marmoset!
  7. the 2010 2x12" remaster is dynamite. from the gatefold jacket... thank you. chris vrenna, bart koster, ross rosen, michael patterson, bicycle fuck you. steve gottlieb and tvt
  8. Vincent Gallo had ebay remove my listing a couple years ago.... due to copyright infringement. He stated it's a bootleg from Japan.... seems he monitors ebay often... it was removed within a day. can't post it on discogs either.... same reason. it's a fine soundtrack, though...
  9. http://www.gemm.com/item/1851702680 with pedro's recordings this extravagant in price, i believe it's time for the fine folks at jade tree and tooth and nail to repress... oh... and this seller is selling "achilles heel" for the mere price of $1400.00. blues rock to the core.
  10. i'm content with my big cat/v2 originals.... a "b" sides/comp tracks/old 7"s compilation album needs a release all it's own... and mostly, The Windfall Varietal needs a vinyl release.
  11. the wait is over... http://www.slumberlandrecords.com/catalog/show/177 mail order copies on mint green vinyl.... while supplies last!
  12. midheaven has had the pre-order on their site for several weeks now... slumberland usually has colored vinyl for mailorder only... i've been checking their site every so often... i've got their three 7"s along with the periscope and a slice of lemon comp on vinyl... which pretty much makes up the entire go sailor self titled album... but i still want this....
  13. for used records... definitely discogs or gemm.com. new/sealed records... midheaven (good distro company/selection/prices), sound stage direct (customer service excels..), and aural exploits (nice prices..) insound.com has an outstanding selection... but a bit pricey. sometimes tonevendor.com has some oddball & exclusive records at decent prices.
  14. many thanks... ordered. i saw the pre-order on Insound.com last week... but waited patiently for the fine folks at Brassland to list the cherry red vinyl. one of the national's finest moments...
  15. the sound quality from those reissues many years ago were blah.. and no inserts with them either. the only positive from the reissues was having "carbona not glue" on "leave home".... not "sheena..."
  16. sold out, perhaps? received the following message when adding to cart.. "Sorry, inventory is low on this item"
  17. Really? Make the label give you money back when it was clearly the fault of USPS? Not cool. some interesting comments so far... perhaps the verbage i used lays the blame on the merchant, depending on one's interpretation. i have much faith in the merchant, not so much in the USPS, alongside fedex, ups, dhl, etc... i have confronted USPS regarding this issue of non-receipt of goods, however, personal values/beliefs do vary from person to person. when insurance isn't offered, even upon asking the merchant... sometimes the only recourse to retrieve the funds is to file a dispute when one isn't able to resolve an issue directly with the courier... or with the merchant. one of the worse experiences i've had with our beloved USPS was when i had approx 700 records to send out to various record pools here in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia... the USPS employee seemed rather irritated with the volume that I brought in. anywho, all were stamped "fragile! handle with care"... well, in short, she flung each parcel like a frisbee into the large cart behind her. i was polite in asking why she's flinging something marked "fragile".. she made no comment. i found a few months later that she was no longer an employee of USPS. if you're not passionate about what you're doing, then why do it at all? and it's not just vinyl records that i'm referring to regarding unreceived goods. but medical supplies, project materials, legal documents.... when in doubt, insure.
  18. i can totally relate... i live in a townhouse and the mailboxes are centrally located. when a large parcel can't fit in the standard personal mailbox they generally put a key in your mailbox for the larger mailboxes. in short, i've received other people's keys and their packages... and i've had many, many parcels never delivered. i've found my records (parcels) on top of other people's mailboxes and visa versa. thankfully, i have honest neighbors. depending how you paid, you may be able to get the funds back. whether it's with Paypal (as long as it's within 45 days of transaction date) or your financial institution (within 60-90 days of trans date), advise them that you "paid for such and such item on this date, i never received the item, i contacted the merchant on such and such date... i am unable to resolve with the merchant". they'll process a chargeback with the merchant and the merchant has about 55 days or so to represent the chargeback. no representation... you get your money back. if they do represent, the merchant will provide documentation stating "per USPS's delivery confirmation, it was delivered on said date." you'll have a time frame to submit a rebuttal letter, in which you advise them you never received the item. however, it does vary between financial institutions, whether they charge off the amount after the merchant receives your rebuttal and doesn't accept the transaction... file a dispute and hold your ground.
  19. upon viewing that recent final fantasy thread... just thought i'd start this thread for those who have a passion for video games... and it's music on vinyl. i recall asking bands such as minibosses and The Advantage many, many years ago..., and they're labels (respectively) if a vinyl release would ever see the light of day... they said "maybe". i've also read about a handful or so NES and Atari cover bands that just did it for they're own pleasure (no physical releases, though). there are some indies and majors in Japan and in Europe that have released limited vinyl pressings of video game music on vinyl. one of them i do own, which i purchased at Amoeba SF about 10 years ago... http://www.discogs.com/Various-Input-64/release/27130 comments?
  20. almightyseancore.... i can definitely relate. this album is solid... purchased it new on vinyl around '97 or so for about $12.99 at the Berkeley Amoeba.... side's C & D received the most rotation, as opposed to side's A & B. ...sold it couple years ago for $100+ on ebay.
