$130 from Canadian Popmarket, what the fuck?!?

You know those employees that work there for shitty pay?  They have to deal with it when you hide stuff.  Stores keep inventory on items so they know what needs to be restocked, or what may have been stolen.  Plus it sucks when a customer walks up and says "Do you have this?" and the employee checks the inventory and it says they do.  Then they go to where it is supposed to be it and it isn't there because someone who couldn't even afford it hid it for themselves.  It is frustrating and makes the employee/store look incompetent in the customers eyes.
 
So stop doing that.  Just because something doesn't affect you directly doesn't mean it doesn't create problems for others.

Back on page 45 or so of this thread, I said I was done with the Vault since my copy of the Jack White live album was so bad and I took too long to notice (I think they give you 14 days or something for returns).

A press kit is something the band's management would send newspapers to help them write a story. Likely contains one or more band photos, a biography, info about the record, and some quotes from band members - stuff like that.

Yeah, it wasn't until I took a closer look that I realized the mix up.
 
Never has my heart beat so fast when opening up mail before, upon seeing that wrecked Styx LP when I first opened the package, my initial thought was that I just received a pile of thrift store records.  My heart nearly sailed away on me.

Nobody responded to the Pro-ject question.  I have one and I'm super happy with it.  I'm not an expert but I believe the general concensus is there is very little/nothing of better quality in that price range.  And coincidentally, I’m running it through a NAD surround sound amp.  It does have a phono jack and works perfectly fine.  I’m planning on an upgrade but it’s been an excellent stop-gap. If you decide to go that way, there is no reason not to game/netflix with the same speakers.

Maybe not "madness" per se but an interesting use of "no reserve"

The music industry as it once was has been dead for years at this point. The majority of people who used to regularly buy music now pirate or stream all their music. These people are of the mentality that "if I can get it for free on the internet, why should I pay for it?". Working in music stores for several years at this point, I have heard people literally say those exact words in the store more times than I can count. I have seen people browse the sections making lists, talking to their friends about how they are going to download all this stuff when they get home.
 
I feel the price increases on vinyl is mostly the big records companies trying to capitalize on the (hopefully not but probable) temporary resurgence of vinyl because their profits from CDs is getting worse every year. Retail stores are reacting in a similar way. HMV Canada recently brought back their vinyl sections and if you walk inside an HMV it's laughable how little of the store is actually music these days compared to 5 or 10 years ago.

Because people are willing to pay these high prices it's this way, and it's only going to get higher until people start voting with their wallets and stop buying them
