I hear a ton of "Pink Triangle" and "Falling For You," melody-wise, in "Tragic Girl." Really the entire B-side of Pinkerton. I am still astonished that "Tragic Girl" not only went unheard for almost 15 years but literally no one even remembered it existed.

Totally. If I had to give a "bottom line" on this record, it's that too much time and effort were spent getting the HBO series right with not enough care and attention given to the music and lyrics.

If that's true, then you have terrible taste.

While taste is largely subjective, if your favorite Foo Fighters album is not either Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape or There is Nothing Left to Lose, then you are just objectively wrong.

My Weezer variant collection is now complete (no comps, no tests) just in time for a new album cycle. Boo. Sorry in advance for the multiple posts.

The Blue Album Original UK LP pressing (1995)     UK/Japan Time Bomb/"Feet" LP (1995)     Japanese "Not for export" LP reissue (2001)     EU LP Reissue (2002)     Unknown 6/4 LP Reissue (2002?) It should be noted that while the labels state that there are six songs on Side A and four on Side B, the actually record has five tracks on each side like it is supposed to.     MFSL 180 Gram LP Reissue (2012)     Back to Black 180 Gram LP reissue (2013)

The bar always seems to be simultaneously set so high and so low when Weezer puts out an album. This is an okay album, but there are so many bands with less baggage putting out better albums all the time. Why bother with a Weezer record in 2014?

He and his band are musically very talented....it's a shame their music sodomizes my ears though....it's not a blanket ignorant statement. Every single one of his fans I've come in contact with with over the past 16 years of me knowing of his unfortunate music has irritated the hell out of me before I even knew they were a fan....additionally his music incites such fruatration and rage inside of me it legitimately makes me want to throw flaming furniture through closed windows. I'm certain there is some kind of music that makes you feel the same....for me, "jam bands" i.e. Phish, O.A.R., String Cheese Incident, Moe, Dave Matthews Band, and Widespread Panic ect just absolutely make my skin crawl....all very talented musicians just absolute shyte to my ears

I cannot seem to understand how or why this record is any improvement on the last few albums. This is like Hurley all over again. Not worse, but also not the least bit better.

As someone who hasn't enjoyed anything since Green, this is a pleasant surprise. Ocasek and Weezer just work well together.

Listening to to this got me very excited for the show.
