damn this album slaps. never hear of these guys before but early TWIAP reminds me of them. any other good stuff on Numero Group that i should check out? i love that the label pressed the Karate discography, waiting on the American Analog Set releases to drop.

Boilermaker is one of my favorite bands and Numero is doing their discography.

early 90 Days Men is tight if you like mathy stuff. I’m a huge sucker for most of the 90’s emo/hardcore they’ve been repressing so I’m biased haha. Boy’s Life is essential and Numero just pressed the Native Nod discography onto wax 😎

Ages ago, yeah.  But I'm also 99% sure that I never actually cancelled my Drift PO – I think it was? – to save the $2 or $3 through Forced Exposure.  That being said, the few times I've interacted with FE, I got the impression that they take their sweet time replying to inquiries and also seem to miss their projected shipment dates (while also failing to update their site descriptions to reflect new ones)... but they still consistently come through.  From my experience(s).

I’ll hold out hope! I just don’t want to wait a year only to find out they accidentally oversold distro’d copies haha

  3. I’ve been holding off on buying The Dusk In Us. I had some (both?) of those 7”s they released around the same time but sold them because the pressing quality was meh.

I guess this is a sign to grab a copy. I might wait until prices go down a bit but I’m glad I held off for so long haha

also, I’m still not sure how I feel about Converge post-You Fail Me era. I’m trying to collect each release up to and including that album but I got lost after No Heroes. That album has some bangers but everything afterwards just never quite resonated with me the same way.

Charging at least double than a standard LP for zero legitimate reason, no extras etc, is robbery plain and simple. Artists and labels should obviously be compensated fairly but this is fucking ridiculous

Not disagreeing with you at all as far as cost goes. Personally I think the whole wax mage culture is toxic as fuck. That said, labels like Silent Pendulum and Wax Vessel typically offset the cost of making/selling wax mages (which you normally see sold for $100+ from other labels) by charging the same, or close to the same amount for each variant across the board.

I’m the old timer that just wants a plain and simple black record with zero aesthetically pleasing frills so I normally just pass on records that are marketed as “super duper exclusive” unless it’s a grail or something I can justify splurging on.

the older I get, I think Valtari might be my favorite record of theirs. I never thought I’d be this way

I think the first time I heard anything from Valtari was when I saw the scene from It’s Always Sunny where Mac comes out to his dad. What a powerful scene. That might be my favorite album too, but AB thru Takk all get a lot of plays for me as well!

Same boat for me.  People who've heard the leak have compared it way more to Valtari which means this one's gonna' be a nice chill-out, late-night / early morning kinda' spin for me.

Can’t wait to smoke some bud and drift off to sleep tonight with this as the soundtrack, if I can find the leak on soulseek.

Good deal! Like I said, it was a great show and an amazing opportunity we couldn’t miss. Matt was super nice and chill also.

He was SO GOOD today! I went in with zero expectations and it was incredible! Ended up buying a print, hopefully one day he’ll put out his solo stuff as a physical format

I'm really glad they're playing Yawning live. I'll dare to say it's the best song off Death Spells. On their fall headliner they said it felt weird (out of place essentially) to have it in the set but hopefully they're embracing it more.

That and Seer are my two favorites. Although I’ve been listening to the new record more than Death Spells ever since it came out. Those first few tracks feels emotionally devastating

Had you not picked up a copy yet?  The black Dunk! pressing from like....  last year (?) has become my play copy.  It took me forever to get a good-playing one.  They always came with lots of surface noise and background nonsense.  With the upgrades that they've done recently, I'm betting that they'll all sound awesome moving forward.  Enjoy!

This is very good Cult of Luna worship haha.  Sounds great!

Edit - holy fuck this is amazing

They were always a band that flew under my radar. At least until ~ 2020 when I saw their name mentioned EVERYWHERE. I tried numerous times to get into them and it just made me want to listen to "The Fire In Our Throats..." by Pelican. Not saying We Lost The Sea sounds cookie-cutter at all, but it just never resonated with me for some odd-reason.

A few weeks ago I finally revisited them and it all clicked.

not a pre-order but if anyone is missing DISEMBODIED’s “Transfiguration” triple LP, Merch Now has some up for $50 + shipping. Much cheaper than Discogs/second hand prices.

someone sent me the link two weeks ago and I thought it was too good to be true but I just got my copy in hand today.
