  1. Either of the /500 will do for me. Opposite of December will always be my fav of theirs, but this one has some rippers as well. No red on the cover is a real bummer indeed.
  2. All I want is a decent repress of The Longest Line. Last one was 2007, so kinda overdue.
  3. I have the 2011 pressing and while it's totally playable, it's not a great pressing. I wouldn't mind a better one. Where will these be going up - their Bandcamp?
  4. Isn't it awesome when you buy a record from someone and then they send it to you right away? Love it when that happens.
  5. Looks like they changed up the cover design a bit. Presumably this now has a regular, single pocket cover? I have one of the OG versions, but I'm tempted to grab the Zia version as a playing copy. It is a fucking brilliant little record.
  6. I'm looking for Praise and Combust Bandcamp streams, but can't seem to find anything for either new album. If anyone could help me out with links I would appreciate it. Edit: Nevermind, found preview for Praise on Stereogum and Combust on Spotify.
  7. So these have started to ship already after all or did some folks just get their hands on individual copies early?
  8. Invictus announced the release of a new Negative Plane album in April. This should be an AOTY candidate. https://invictusproductions666.bandcamp.com/album/the-pact
  9. PO is live from Bindrune for the new Nechochwen LP. Their last one was phenomenal, so this is an instant buy for me. https://bindrunerecordings.bandcamp.com/album/kanawha-black?from=fanpub_fnb
  10. I listened to the song and I thought, huh, this sounds a little like Battery, and the guitarist is wearing a Damnation a.d. shirt. Cool! Then I look at Bandcamp and it's Brian McTernan's band. I guess I've been out of the loop for a minute. Might just have to pick this up.
  11. Grief, Eyehategod, Noothgrush and early Corrupted are sludge essentials. Rwake, Coffinworm, Warhorse and Enewetak are/ were also great. Probably forgetting some others. And while Thou are not as crusty, they're definitely drawing from the same musical lineage. (I once heard them describe their approach to songwriting as "What Would Eyehategod Do".) Speaking of Thou, they brought a few new records on their current tour as well as a little discography zine that was otherwise only available to Bryan's Patreon subscribers. Highly recommended.
  12. Speaking of Deadguy - in case anyone is interested, I have a ticket for tomorrow's show in Jersey, but unfortunately can't go. Giving it away for free, hmu if you want it.
  13. Or you could wait a few more weeks and get it from a domestic US retailer for less. My recent order from imusic for a supposedly in stock copy Glow On turned out to be backordered. Presumably eventually they really will have it in stock, but then you're still looking at 2-6 weeks for shipping.
  14. I got one of those from a restock a month or two ago. I'm not a big STP fan, I just wanted something with good enough audio to spin once a year, and to my ears this sounds like a pretty good pressing, especially considering it's splatter. Not the worst $22 I've spent by a long shot.
  15. I know people are going to buy this regardless, but come on, $160 for what amounts to one single record's worth of music is a pretty shitty deal unless you just like spending money. It's a band-sanctioned flip. Buy the Ritual De Lo Habitual repress instead, it's a better album and costs only $32.
  16. You're moving to Paris in the spring! I'm so jealous! Ok, assuming that you do NOT want to bring the records on the plane (because you probably have a lot of other personal belongings to bring) and that your friend's container is your best option, here is exactly what I would do: Get a 14x14x14" box (available on Amazon). They come in different degrees of sturdiness, get the thickest cardboard option available. You're going to use clothes (preferably T-shirts or towels, something the folds flat) and bubble wrap to pack. Wrap your records in bubble wrap as tightly as possible in packs of ten. On the bottom of the box, put down a firm 1" layer of clothes (about three T-shirts worth). Then arrange the records in the middle of the box. You should have at least half an inch to spare on each side, probably more on two sides, since, as everyone has been helpful to point out, you only have 40 records (which is a great start to a collection). Gently but firmly stuff the sides and top of the box around the records with clothes, as much as you can fit, then seal it. Why not use more bubble wrap to stuff the box? Because fabric can be packed more tightly, plus it frees up suitcase space. The key to this is sufficient padding + tight packaging, so nothing can move around inside the box no matter how roughly it's handled or damaged if it falls on its corner. That should do it. Good luck!
  17. Haha I love their description. "Hardcore with a gooey centre." Spot on.
