  1. If anyone's looking, Vinyl Conflict has copies of Combust's Another Life on blue w red splatter /300 (which has been sold out from Cash Only for a while) listed on Discogs for $18.99. Glad I caught this since I didn't catch them live and get into them until after the initial sell out. https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/2096073083
  2. New Regulate LP PO live from Flatspot: https://flatspotrecords.com/ 1000 - Silver 600 - Black 250 - Gold w/ Yellow Splatter 150 - Half Aqua Blue / Half Orange
  3. The market for vinyl is just a lot smaller in Korea, that's probably the underlying reason for the prices. I go to Seoul once a year and there are only a handful of small record stores in a city of 20 million and most of the vinyl is imported, which means most (US/ European) new releases go for around $45. Tbh I don't know how much new releases by artists from Korean or other Asian countries typically cost though. I'd be curious to know where the Parannoul vinyl is pressed and whether they are looking into pressing a different run in the US or Europe for those markets to get the cost down.
  4. The World of Pleasure 12" which looks like it includes both EPs has apparently been up for preorder for a week. Wish I'd seen this sooner, but got the orange variant. Absolutely crushing stuff. https://worldofpleasure.bigcartel.com/product/pre-order-world-of-pleasure-friends-12
  5. I hear Discogs is coming out with a super scientific analysis of Google search data on that subject next week.
  6. Yup, same here for Down on the Upside. Bummer. Must have been a royal inventory screw up or something.
  7. No that makes no sense. International shipping costs are fixed, none of us can do any better unless you are a bigger shipping company that can get cheaper bulk rates. And the savings in taxes far outweigh any fees they may charge (I can't tell exactly how much, but it can't be that much based on the shipping costs). So unless you can find a very generous member here who is based in a tax-free state, has lots of storage space and packaging materials at hand and oodles of free time, a service like Ship7 will be your best option.
  8. Going on tour this fall, too. Looking forward to that! Never had a chance to see them back in the day.
  9. New City of Caterpillar LP from Relapse! https://store.relapse.com/item/112727
  10. Cynic Focus repress on black if anyone needs it: https://cyniconline.bandcamp.com/album/focus
  11. Gel and Cold Brats split LP PO live from Convulse Records. Gel are the shit, this is a mandatory pick-up for me. Clear /150 and White /200 still available. https://www.convulserecords.com/product/gel-cold-brats-shock-therapy-12
  12. When I was a wee lad and had lots of friends in bands, it seemed like we just intuitively knew what math rock meant, and the aforementioned Owls were the epitome of the sound, so they (and especially the first album) get my vote. Algernon Cadwallader are eerily similar, but I'll take it. Some of my friends in bands who I would consider mathy were these guys: https://clickers.bandcamp.com/album/ep002 Great energy, great live shows, and now it's all available for free, so check it out. EP 2 is a good start.
  13. I was very happy with the set list (and lucky to get Steve's afterward). Great show all around. If I had a car I'd try to catch more than one in the area. Re merch, if anyone still needs an OG copy of Antenna in orange you might be in luck. They should have a handful left (lightly dinged, for $80).
  14. Stuff they're making up. Highly desirable records that could conceivably come up for sale every now and again, rated NM or better and priced reasonably but not cheaply. In my case it was a rare Axe to Fall variant. But most of the other records listed were totally different genres, just all in the same price range. The seller's original collection was mostly >$40 records, so the disparity was glaring.
  15. Happened to me as well. The scammer found a legit account that had been inactive for a few years and took it over. I realized something was wrong when I checked out the other listings after my PP payment kept failing and it was all records in the $150-$400 range. Fortunately wised up in time and didn't send the money directly. Weeks later I got an apologetic message from the distraught original account owner who was left to sort out the mess. Ever since then I've been super careful, to the point where I almost missed out on some legit deals until the seller convinced me they were a real person.
  16. Spaced Jams comp /200 out from NMZ: https://newmoralityzine.bandcamp.com/album/spaced-jams
  17. Malignant Altar repress is live via Bandcamp/ Dark Descent as well as Decibel/ BV. Excellent record.
  18. Thanks! I'll let myself be surprised by the set list, but I hope it's heavy on new songs (and I'm not usually one to said that lol).
  19. Anyone going to the first show of tour tonight? I'm curious whether they'll in fact have the tour edition of HP with them. Can't wait for tomorrow night!
  20. It's a bummer, I was looking forward to seeing him. The new album is huge. Hopefully there'll be make-up dates eventually.
  21. Economy shipping from Japan can take 2-3 months. In other words, faster than the average pre-order. Totally worth it.
  22. Not extreme metal, but not sure where else to put this. The new Sumerlands is up for pre-order via Relapse. Very possibly the trad metal album of the year, given the personnel involved. https://store.relapse.com/pre-orders
