  1. Never been to Taco Johns, but if I had to pick between the current list it would be Del Taco hands down. Now, if you want to add another completely superior taco chain I would vote for Jimboys http://jimboystacos.com/ They are mostly located in the Sacramento area and they are superior in every way. Their shells are fried, but still foldable, soft and crispy. They dust it with parmesan and fill it with seasoned ground beef, a slice of American, lettuce, grated cheese, and tomatoes. Frickin' amazing. I'm lucky that I have relatives up there and I get to hit it every now and then. I want to open up a franchise here is Oakland. I would be rich.
  2. If you're ever in Orange County in Socal, hit up Factory Records in Costa Mesa. The owner used to run Noise Noise Noise and he gets in some amazing used stuff. Punk, rare soul and jazz, psych, indie and weird stuff. The store is the size of a large walk in closet, but there is some serious stuff there, new and used. If I lived there I would be going there weekly. https://www.facebook.com/factoryrecords92627
  3. So does that mean clear record from this version + regular cover = friends and family /100(?) variant?
  4. I'm really feeling like I have to see them live. Has anyone seen the tour yet? How did the groups sound and did they have any tour editions?
  5. It was not padded, just thin paper and a torn box top thrown in for super protection. I paid about $14 USD for the shipping, so I would have been a little pissed if they got wrecked. I'm just lucky I got mine, I guess. Definitely not paying that extra $5.
  6. Yeah, this new bill is some bullshit. My shipping was not cheap and though I understand shipping from Canada to the US isn't media mail prices, I can't see how they could ask me for $5 more on top of what I already paid. Pretty lamewolf.
  7. Maybe they are burnt out on the colored vinyl after that Prince Avalanche problem. I like colored vinyl, but I am happy with black. At this point, black is the new ultra swirl haze splatter. I will once again say, like others have also said, TRL does it right with their prices. So many $20 records by relatively unknown bands are getting way too norm and I'm doing my best to vote by not buying those overpriced releases. TRL has fair prices with great service and quality pressings. I don't think I have ever had a problem with their record quality.
  8. Had to jump on it. Hasn't TRL not listed colored vinyl in the past, but it actually was? I kind of hope it's just black.
  9. These guys are playing at Psych Fest this year. To me, they are a psych mixture of the B-52s, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, and maybe the Cramps? Their new record is limited to 400 on oxblood vinyl. http://churchofsun.com/ Song off the new lp http://youtu.be/qeKMYjzuNsk From first lp on golden clear /500 http://youtu.be/v5BQ8juqTZs
  10. Looks like the Art Damage edition is sold out. They still have the regular limited.
  11. Just in case you've never heard Shattered Faith, here is their track from the infamous Rodney on the Roq Vol2 comp. http://youtu.be/sbupNAwT4rk
  12. I know there are some people on the boards who like good old classic punk rock. Hostage just released a new Shattered Faith 45. The Art Damage edition is limited to 100 on red with silkscreened cover. Also keep a look out for a new Drips 45 featuring members of The Bronx. http://www.hostagerecords.com/hostage_records/HOME.html
  13. Listening to the DL now. I'm really liking this. It sounds like a newer and much better version of Strawberry Switchblade. Glad my RC copy is on its way.
  14. This is why people are hating on you. You come off as a dick in your post. Maybe you didn't mean it that way, but people were trying to help you and you gave them a scolding. Oh well, adios.
  15. That review is funny, "Before he met co-writer and guitarist Brandon Setta, for example, frontman Dominic Palermo once served a 2-year prison sentence for a stabbing," So, am I supposed to be impressed that he didn't finish the job AND got caught? Did they include this fun street cred fact in their bio sheet? This record is caught up in the hype machine and I don't know if it really deserves this much attention. Maybe I need to listen to the leak.
  16. Some of the roots of modern day "pop punk": The Vibrators http://youtu.be/saRtz34PQYk The Descendants http://youtu.be/rfteSVCd4Pc The Adicts http://youtu.be/QhzQ1_af-r8 The Buzzcocks http://youtu.be/terg_LPT3X0 and the best EVER, The Ramones http://youtu.be/91oq6d4gYiQ
  17. Everything before and after Cherish The Light Years isn't all that interesting to me. Maybe it's because that was the first album I got by them. Cherish showed so much promise for ushering in a new wave of 80's style goth. It is a brilliant record. The picture discs and other crap Wes has been releasing since then doesn't even come close. He seems too caught up in being a fashionista and I just wish he'd take Cold Cave to the next level. OR release a new AN record .
  18. I don't know if you noticed the poem on this page "Below The Sky", I played them If These Trees Could Talk during that writing session.
