  1. Thanks to everyone who donated. I still need to get the shipping addresses of some people, but the others were mailed. I will most likely do this again next school year. I'm glad folks were pleased with their poems. I get happy every year about what comes out of their third grade souls.
  2. I'm looking forward to the whole album, but the first song sounds a little sloppy. I like them more when they have that destructive swagger thing going on. Either way, I am going to be buying this in some form or another.
  3. FINALLY got Grime! F to the U you people asking $100 plus for the og. I will be more than happy with my fancy colored repress.
  4. I'm wondering how this is all going to work out. Has anyone been contacted yet? Hope I get a shot.
  5. This might take the prize for most pointless and stupidest release of 2014. Though I am sure something stupidererer will be announced soon enough.
  6. Man, I really wished I liked the music because that packaging is sick. When I was listening to the sample the vocals actually made me laugh a little. Is it supposed to be a parody? Not trying to offend any fans here. There is a lot of stuff I like that could be questioned.
  7. I've been annoying Tre to sell me TA - PTSBBAM test since it came out. I'd also love to get a Birds In Row test and of course Jane Doe or AWLWLB!
  8. Going to the Oakland show. I'm very glad they are playing the Fox again, beautiful place to see a band. My friends and I will probably be the oldest people there.
  9. Cool. Not laying down any judgment for wanting to have a sealed copy for collectability or resale. I just don't think a sealed bootleg will mean anything in the end. Glad I was able to score a blue one. With my luck they will release some superdeluxo 180 gm next month!
  10. Many labels will ship the record outside of the jacket, which I appreciate to avoid seam splits. Why would it matter if it wasn't sealed up? Aren't you going to open it and listen to it anyway?
  11. The music is good, but the formats are lame. I just feel like TRL is better than this type of shtick.
  12. I'm glad I took a chance on this album. For anyone interested, I think Antithetic still has copies of YAITW 7 inchers and test pressings for 50% off. I'm looking forward to seeing them live.
  13. I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but upspeak drives me fuckin' batshit. If it's not a question it shouldn't sound like a question! My wife started working with some younger tech people and she started to end many of her declarative sentences in the interrogative. If you speak this way, please know that you automatically sound like an unsure, immature idiot. That's all. Wait, I also hate the phrase "Aha moment", unless we are talking about the band.
  14. Happy to pay $26 for each record? The big labels are laughing all the way to the bank.
  15. This is really hard to accept as Wolves material. It's not bad, I just don't see ANY similarities between this music and any of their other releases. They should have just done a side project with a different name. At any rate, I'm not paying $25 plus $11.25 shipping for this. EDIT: Just listened to the whole track and that shit was boring as hell. I like ambient music, but that was a bad imitation of Brian Eno and Terry Riley. They have said this new sound was just an experiment. I hope they don't just play the new stuff when they tour.
  16. Got my big box of stuff today. I'm already on my second spin of The Great Old Ones - Al Azif . The splatter and haze variants look sweet. Fans of the post- black metal sound need to check them out. A serious steal with that 50% off code. A test pressing for $15? Yes, for now. Thanks for the quick shipment and solid packing.
  17. I gave the class a Caspian title this year. While they wrote I played the track. This was one of them. Hymn For The Greatest Generation One day, a little boy was playing a song on stage. It was Thanksgiving, everybody was there. They all were clapping when the little boy was playing the song. It was like a feast. One song he played was a long, long song. There was a big group of people clapping and crying a little bit. - Rafael
  18. I talk with them about them about all of these things and let them know that they are the artist and they must make the choice, but also know the choices. Sometimes if they just write a brick of text I will type it that way and show them other poems and let them tell me where/if they want any line breaks or stanzas. My main thing is to keep my hands off, so the integrity of it being their actual poem remains. It's exciting to open their folders and see what amazing things they have come up with. It surprises me every year. I have a few more spaces left if anyone wants to donate for a book. I will cut it off on Saturday, whether we reach the max or not. Thanks!
  19. One more from my star poet this year. Your Blue Horizon Her name was Sky and she used to look elegant, but now she is just a dream. I still can see her blue horizon. Sky said, “Sometimes you have to keep moving forward.” Stars helped her glimmer at night all the time. Night, morning, and day reminds me of Sky, she used to glimmer in the day time. - Aiyana
