  1. That looks cool held up to the light, didn't try that yet. Thanks to Var and Geis for quickly getting that warped issue taken care of. Great service, great label.
  2. That is fine, I am usually at Durty Nellies or Pops or Lamp Lighters. And instead of being douchey and pretentious I'll just be blunt and spill my beef: - Many users on this board are extremely ignorant and have no idea how to search a website (paypal/ebay...) for the FAQs section and instead make pointless threads asking for help. - Then there are users that have no patience for records to arrive, but still put themselves through the agony that comes with preorders. - Another segment of users is just getting into records because they want to be hip or something (this segment I understand the least). They have no idea if something has been pressed, but they "have" to have it. They will buy every release from a handful of bands and drop serious amounts of mommies money in the process only to get bored of it and sell them within three months of getting them. - There are also people that post for the sole reason flipping records. - Blatant trolls are another group. The remaining 5% are cool people that contribute in a positive way. I personally have no problem with people taking mommies money to buy tons of records and then selling them, or even with flippers. In the end it is supporting record companies and helping to keep this hobby alive for those of us who are in it for the long haul. Now, trolls are a whole different story.
  3. Ha ha - mostly yes but I wouldn't put a definitive word like "every" in there. No doubt I followed a few trends in my life - it's what happens when you're young but those overly serious emo kids really fucked shit up for a while when things were killer fun. It was really odd to see develop and even odder to look back on. That's the same argument the early punks in the Masque scene had with these suburban kids going up to LA and playing the more violent punk rock- Middle Class, TSOL, Suicidal. It's the same way I feel when I go to punk shows now and see these kids windmilling their arms around like some cracked out capoiera dancers. By the way kids, it used to be called a "slam pit". I think Anthrax invented "mosh". Fuck I'm old.
  4. The recalled art is pretty crazy, though I still want it, this is one of the best punk rock releases I've heard in a while. Has anyone else noticed the two variations of stickers on the cellophane? Just a record dork detail. I wouldn't be surprised if they released all of these together in lp format.
  5. A couple of details that I liked about this release is the flat edge of the record and also the old timey Vocalion looking labels. Brings back the concept of when record albums were actually in albums, like picture albums. Also the word "album" is from the latin word "albus" which means white. So it makes sense that the cover is white. Too much analyzing. Also, record good, real good.
  6. I am looking for the RED version of Smog on 45 by Smogtown on Hostage Records. Let me know if you have this and your price. I might also be interested in other Hostage titles, especially the Decline 7" with the bullet hole cover, to add to my collection if they are cheap. THANKS!
  7. Totally believable. I mean, Face to Face is a pretty big band with a large worldwide following and not everyone is as obsessive/clued in about new vinyl releases as all of us- there were probably a lot of people who had no idea the kickstarter thing even happened. I have no doubt my 100 bucks was well spent especially if I ever want to sell. I would also be interested to see that test up on ebay.
  8. Mine was Shipped UPS ground. Nice try mocking me though, very professional. Pretty sure he wasn't mocking you, just kinda saying that media mail sucks. I got lucky and mine came with only a slight corner bump. DW packed it very well, but media is the biggest gamble. I think UPS comes with automatic insurance so you should file a claim. It won't replace your damaged one, but at least you could get the money back.
  9. Yeah, it really does seem like some disgruntled postal worker was having a shitty day. Var, I sent all my info with proof to Geis. Thanks a lot for taking care of this. Another reason why No Idea kicks ass!
  10. I definitely don't mind paying more for a high quality shirt. My problem is sizing. Some brands are perfect in mediums for me and some better in large. Shrinkage is mostly in the dryer.
  11. Wow, yours is worse than mine, but it's like the post office just fucked these up. I usually don't have any problems with this and my packaging is bent in too, just not as bad. Maybe a "Fragile Do Not Bend" stamp MIGHT help. I always write it on my packages I send.
  12. Got mine today. I guess I'm kinda glad I got two copies because one set is warped to shit.
  13. This is simply fucking unbelievable. It really almost seems like a joke. I will donate one dollar for them NOT to repress the Buffet albums.
  14. Wow, another pressing of this record. Between the Panic version, various versions from P&P, the Holy Roar anthology versions, and now this, am I going to need a whole new Expedit just to hold all of these variations? I will hold out for the Brazilian pressing. Colors sound cool though.
  15. Just another guy with a shipping confirmation. HELL YEAH!!!
  16. As many of you would agree, DEATHWISH is one of the BEST labels/distros around. Quick communication and insanely quick shipping. There are many times when I find something from another label and instead of buying from their site, I go to the DW store to see if they have it because I know I will get it fast and they will take care of any problems that may happen. A solid, kickass company.
  17. New info from the Kickstarter site: "There was an error when listing the color run. There was a total of 1,000 records pressed in the first edition. Only the first 500 are part of this Kickstarter promotion. Here is the color run in order: 100 - white 200 - red 200 - clear These are the only colors that are part of the Kickstarter promo. 500 - blue Some of these were sold at shows. Most are still available and will most likely end up for sale on line and in record stores."
  18. BOS is having a raffle for some rare stuff. Get in while you can! https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=190511284336519
  19. They seem to pick out pieces of current popular sounds, but it just doesn't come together. To me, it sounds like the singer and the musicians are in two different bands.
  20. I got the chance to finally kick back and spin the vinyl while reading the lyrics and checking out the art. I have to say I am now pretty happy I got this. Side A is the strongest, but overall the record did not disappoint. Any Face to Face fan would be stoked. If you didn't get this, find someone who will sell theirs. I'm keeping all of mine.
  21. Got mine... Nothing too exciting. Signed setlist and "test" pressing just in plain inner sleeve. I was hoping they would do something interesting, but nope. Inside gatefold. Trever looks mad that they didn't supersize his happy meal. At least they printed that this is the first edition on the back. Didn't take photos of the portfolio. All in all fairly glad I got it. I am still wondering what the actual pressing numbers for each color are because the math was wrong on the initial numbers. ???
  22. I ordered a record from Volar Records about 5 months ago. He keeps promising to send it and then says he sent it, that was 3 weeks ago. UPDATE After emailing him once again just asking for a refund, he refunded me immediately. He also sent me the record evidently free of charge. He made things right, which is a lot. I will still hesitate to order again though.
