So stupid

I don't know. If I paid $230 clams for tickets and two weeks later I didn't have them, I would feel pretty entitled too. That's a lot of clams.

at least with most of the vinyl I buy, I feel like we know there isnt that much profit margin in it. if a band or label makes 1000 copies of a record and sells it for $20 a piece, I dont feel like they are laughing all the way to the bank. CDs are so cheap to produce and package, ship and stock that the margin is really huge, and they make hundreds of thousands, frequently. Vinyl records are inconvenient in almost every way, are really hard to ship safely, scratch if you look at them sideways, and dont weather elements at all. Their impermanence is one of the most endearing things to me.
I got back into vinyl after about 20 years out of the game, with only my 5000 CDs and 100,000 MP3s to keep me company. The vinyl collection has become like an amazingly useful piece of art. I wish labels and bands made more money off of it, and Im thrilled that a groundswell of support from a largely indie-centric group essentially brought this medium back to life.

Meanwhile, at the pressing plant...

Why do I get the feeling that not many people are going to miss this unlistenable album? For a band that hates the whole marketing machine they did a nice publicity stunt and will also simultaneously release an ep that is "listenable".

They finally came through. I now have everything I paid for and they gave me a yellow copy too. It was rocky, but ended fine.

To everyone who seems concerned about their order, this guy has always been a stand up dude. He has a lot of orders to process, pack, and mail out. Give him some time. I put in two separate orders a while ago and I haven't gotten a shipping confirmation. I'm not worried though because he has always come through. I don't see any reason why anyone should be worried.

This was a great analogy. This is exactly how I feel about Converge. It took me a while for the music to make sense to me, though I always knew that someday it would. I kept on trying and finally understood. Now, I can't wait for this new album and to see Converge in October.

Saw all of the bundles and knew it was some merchnow bs.
At least there is a "bundle" with just the record.

I feel like there is some truth in here but they way you write it makes me feel like a rational discourse isn't going to develop. So I'll say, I think some of your facts seem like opinions. Putting things in a list format does not make them facts.

Well I'm glad I checked my email and barely spotted that AN is playing a show in Oakland. Couldn't believe it. I don't know where else they are playing, but it must be a tour. FINALLY!!!
