  1. That collection brings a tear to my eye it's so beautiful. All bought at the time?
  2. This turned out to by my favorite record of 2010. I will be at at least one of these shows. Hell yes.
  3. To clarify, the toes themselves are fine. I'm just not a fan of feet in general.
  4. I just got a copy of this and didn't realize I ordered the one with the t-shirt. What's with these damn t-shirt bundles? How did this company license this HUGE record, along with other huge records like Portrait of an American Family?!
  5. Those toes up there are freaking me out. Background of the cover art always reminded me of crumpled up gum wrappers. I don't think you can mix metallic sparkle with anything though!
  6. Want to order this and the Seaweed 7" but was waiting for the PO for You Are Freaking Me Out to go up... is that happening soon?
  7. I've seen this show twice and it's awesome. But it was the same setlist except for A Celebration Upon Completion which was added for the hometown crowd in Council Bluffs this past weekend. I understand it's a show but I was hoping for a little spontaneity. I will say that I hope they do one last tour where they dip into the catalog a bit more. They played almost every track on the new record which is fine since it's a tour to promote that record. But damn do I miss the old stuff.
  8. Agreed. I think there are enough copies of this release floating around now that it won't be hard for people to pick it up. That's a good thing for sure.
  9. Hopefully they find a way to outsource this work to illegal US citizens. We'll do the jobs you guys refuse to!
  10. If you're still in Chicago, why not just call and have them hold it? I do it all the time.
  11. Now if only the still-in-print records I ordered in January would turn up!
  12. blair > tim, tho. Have to disagree here. Tim made one of my three favorite records of all time and another on my top 20 or so. Blair made a couple pretty good records and a couple less good records. No Blair cracks my top 50 I don't think.
  13. Got the purple with orange splatter. Sucks I had to get the package with the t-shirt, mug and shotgunner, but totally worth it.
  14. I'm not easily starstruck, but I'd interview the hell out of J Robbins. Sweet!
  15. If it were up to me, the world would have no rock but J Robbins rock. Dude played in one of my favorite bands of all time and recorder no fewer than 3 of my top 25 records of all time. He's kind of my hero, so it's no surprise that I love the LP versions of these tracks (or that it's my favorite Against Me record). Speaking of the white LP, mine seems super thin. I was worried it would crack when I pulled it off the spindle.
  16. Welp, looks like it's time to sell my Moon Is Down. Though this smells of fluke, really. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=290564735160&si=JZKv3ZGK9rxmsrMloaNSInxwMGk%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMESINDXX%3AIT Where the hell do the couple of big time Japanese sellers find their damn stock?!
  17. Got mine today and spun it immediately. Couple of my personal notes: 1.) No noticeable audio problems, though my needle was walking back and forth pretty hard. They might be out of round. Sounded okay on my MK2. 2.) Fat doesn't do download cards? Why didn't I know that. Now I have to download these anyway even though I avoided doing so when the demos leaked. 3.) Am I alone in feeling like these versions didn't really necessitate a release like this? Very few of these songs were different enough to compel me to reach for this copy instead of the real record. I find I generally feel that way about demo versions and "alternate" versions, so I'm not really surprised they struck me as not significant.
  18. I would've bought those day of for the full $11.98 retail price if the artwork was full. No idea why they pressed 12" w/ 5" artwork.
  19. I've been getting thank you notes from them since 2000. Robb and Matt used to write them! Great label, even if my interest in their bands is a bit myopic. Incredible customer service.
  20. Heard a good prank idea for this day: Go around your town leaving piles of clothes in the streets.
  21. Wait, this one's good too! "The homers he hit against us would be homers in any park, including Yellowstone." - manager Paul Richards
  22. Backed. Favorite quote about Killer: "He hit line drives that put the opposition in jeopardy. And I don't mean infielders, I mean outfielders." - Ossie Bluege
  23. Anyone happen to have a hookup or 3 tix to Aesop Rock tonight? I slept on it thinking I could do the free tickets from Reckless idea but they don't have any new Aesop or Kimya to buy to get the deal.
  24. This one's the only one that makes any sense for me: I think new wave tunes. And are in Chicago finally. So exhausted. Thought I'd go see J Robbins too?
