  1. I think the version of Kill Collapse I have is from the pre-master CD version of the album that Ladd gave me. It sounds the roughest of all the tracks for sure, so maybe it's no better than the MySpace rip. I never got the retail CD so 1.) Never saw the videos I made for it and 2.) Have no idea what the final versions of the songs sound like. So this record will be a real treat!
  2. Saw this at Quaker Goes Deaf in like 1995. It was $50 and might as well have been $1M, as I was 14.
  3. I shot the enhanced CD videos for "It Won't Snow..." That feels like it happened literally a lifetime ago. A literal lifetime. Bummed Jordan didn't have the funds to release this because his press of their last (not very good) record sounded and looked fantastic. Hope SRC is up to the challenge!
  4. Whereas I would give the going rate of about $45 for the old pressing. To each his own!
  5. Also, for those interested, a label in the UK is doing a picture disc of the LP: http://www.punktastic.com/news/27278/Big-Scary-Monsters-to-release-the-new-Cursive-album-on-vinyl-in-the-UK/ Big Scary Monsters Records will release CURSIVE's forthcoming new album 'I Am Gemini' on vinyl in the UK on limited edition picture disc. It'll be hand numbered and limited to 500 copies, and you can see the full statement from BSM below: "We're absolutely delighted to announce the release of Cursive's brilliant new album on limited edition 12" vinyl picture disc here in the UK! 'I Am Gemini', Cursive's seventh full-length and heaviest in years, tells the story of Cassius and Pollock, twin brothers separated at birth; one good, one evil. An unexpected reunion at a house that is not a home ignites a classic struggle for the soul, played out with a cast of characters that includes a chorus of angels and devils and conjoined twin sisters. Recorded in Omaha, Nebraska at ARC studios with producer Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Minus The Bear, Isis) and mixed at Red Room in Seattle, Washington. Cursive is the longtime trio of Tim Kasher (vocals, guitar), Matt Maginn (bass) and Ted Stevens (guitar, vocals), with Patrick Newbery (keys) and Cully Symington (drums). 'I Am Gemini' is now available to pre-order on 12" vinyl picture disc, hand-numbered and limited to just 500 copies! Pick it up at our webstore and check out The Sun And Moon on the Rolling Stone website." Full info at http://www.bsmrocks.com/.
  6. Random SC vinyl question: How come the cover art of the Faint's "Danse Macabre" changed with the repress? The image of the dude was not licensed. Not sure if they got a C&D on it, but that's what I was told way back in 2001 or whenever I noticed it.
  7. If you're shipping from eBay (not PayPal), you can do 1st Class International now. I used to have to stand in line and that alone was enough to make me want to stop offering that shit. But now it's all on record. You don't get Ebay Seller Protection unless you get Registered tracking ($12 or so, and you've got to stand in line and use USPS-approved tape for that). But it's worth the risk for me since at least 40% of my orders on eBay come from Canada, UK and Germany. If someone screws me out of $50 here or there (and no one ever has), it's just a cost of doing business I guess. Doesn't help someone who only sells a handful of records a year I guess, but that's how I play it. I've mailed at least 500 international packages and I've only had trouble shipping to Italy, Mexico and Brazil. I don't ship there anymore unless they contact me and agree to pay for Registered and absolve me of all blame. Never had a problem doing that either.
  8. Storms of Early Summer and Such Blinding Stars set w/ bonus 8 (4?) Teeth To Eat Your/Burst and Bloom disc? Would buy. Someone do the track length math on those.
  9. Why not Storms Of Early Summer?? I ask this every time something Cursive-related happens anywhere and I'm sure the answer is that not a ton of people would buy it.
  10. Saddle Creek does pre-orders right. I'm about to give them $50 for the new Cursive record that will probably suck because I'm a moron. But at least I know they won't give me the runaround!
  11. Not too hard to find. Original generic sleeve had a Jawbreaker sticker attached to it. $15 or so sounds right. The cassingle has artwork and is cool too!
  12. Last few of those have sold for around $15-20 shipped. I don't know why people don't like The Good Life as much as other bands that are way worse.
  13. Skip Smells Like Children too. The SV version only sells for $30-40 so the market isn't there for a repress I don't think. Also, you could sell a TON of Local H... in Zion, IL where they're from. That being said, I listened to Hamfisted a lot on Walkman on my paper route.
  14. Welcome to the boards! You did indeed do it right. I will reward you by selling you my sealed 1st press of Planet of Ice. PM me if you're interested!
  15. I'm late to this party, but I would buy 2XLP versions of the first two albums in a second. I never even opened my t-shirt version of Portrait because I assumed it sounded awful and I don't care about a silly t-shirt because I'm a grown ass man. Oh, and while we're at it, someone with a direct connection to Manson please get those Spooky Kids tapes remastered. Or did Gidget take those to his grave?
  16. The black vinyl original press is pretty easy to find for $15-$20. But just track down the rerelease instead- like the other Primus rereleases, the quality is MUCH better.
  17. Someone call DeSoto and tell them now is the time to put out those goddamned Burning Airlines records.
  18. eCheapshipping doesn't seem to have stiffeners. Am I missing them?
  19. I didn't know they did two green pressings... silly in itself. But the price on the 1st press stands as ridiculous.
  20. This can't be legit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330631826595?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 $200 maybe. There's one as a BIN at $195 right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DECEMBERISTS-Castaways-Cutouts-GREEN-12-vinyl-LP-/280678659569?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUA%26otn%3D5%26pmod%3D330631826595%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D3913596841540223613
  21. Thought the score was done by Cliff Martinez (of early RHCP and Soderbergh semi-fame). Either way, would kill to have this on vinyl- if just for the cover art alone.
  22. I think the most interesting part of this is that it only takes 3000 albums sold to get into the Billboard 150.
  23. I'll live, too,of course. I'm just mad at myself for jumping the gun in my collector nerd frenzy. Didn't need a new shirt and don't even like this one. It looks like one of the shirts an aunt or uncle would get me for Christmas when I was a kid. "This is what the skaters wear!"
