That ACB record was actually $14.99+shipping.  You had 28 raffle entries at $2 a pop...coming to $56...so MAYBE you made a little more than $10.

You're right...people voicing their opinions is stupid.  Let's shut up and listen to the records we all love overpaying for.

I just hate that you're trying to act like you'd be willing to trade this for a record that is worth $100. And that you'd do the split + $70 (because that equals $100 right?
But that is completely illogical. Why wouldn't you just hold onto the $30 and put it toward whatever LP you want?
Because that's not what you want to do. You snaked this release and now you're hoping to score big. And if this ends up selling for $150-200 on the 'bay, you'll use that as part of your trade.
It's just shitty to play it off as anything but. Be honest at least. Especially since there is a dude willing to pay $80 on this thread for this release. You could just as easily sell it for nearly triple what you paid, but that doesn't work in your scheme of scoring a long OOP release for cheap, does it?

I get it. You're too dumb to realize that if everyone thinks like you (which too many do), that doesn't account for 1/1500, but rather 500/1500 or more. People just looking to bank on a release selling out and being flip-worthy.
You aren't the SOLE problem, you're just PART of the problem.
People who do what you're doing are a large part of why new release are upwards of $20 when they don't need to be. Supply and demand gets skewed when people but more than they need and throw off the process. Then the hands of fate belong in a second-hand market (eBay) versus the retail market and prices go through the roof.
If this process eludes you, please take a class in economics or finance.
So understand that I'm not mad about this release or any of these college-era releases, but the overall effect that this stuff has on collecting. Shit like this is ruining it for EVERYONE.

Me? I'm just some dude who buys the records that he wants, rather than scooping up every "high profile" release that comes by in hopes of scoring something else.

I get what you're trying to do, but it just exacerbates the problem of a "limited" release. If people who didn't want/need a release would stop buying it in order to trade/sell/flip it, it wouldn't go OOP instantly and the prices wouldn't skyrocket. If the eBay prices didn't skyrocket, then people wouldn't charge $24+ for a brand new, single LP as retail.

The most outrageous part is someone willingly is paying 81 dollars plus shipping for this record...a record that was in stores today yet they bid before release date...for a fall out boy record... I like this band but I would never dream of paying that much for any of FoB's albums.

Yes. that is a perfect idea. Let me roll it around in my head. A Kickstarter might be good or maybe even working directly with TRL. I don't know what contractual obligations Explosions has and might be good to tie TRL in with the project anyway to promote their label. I'm sure there will be some sort of school district redtape to deal with. Well, let me start looking into it. Thanks for the great idea, Dreamover!

get explosions to make an exclusive 7" to pair with a nice book of these poems, do a kickstarter, and use the money to buy all the kids savings bonds for college.
