RE: the Elvis labels, they replicated the way the acetate was pressed using the back sides of unused labels for another release. Post-RSD bump

lol @ people who honestly think the 10X10 green art insert is for placing behind the die cut and/or that the cutout is improperly sized. It's supposed to be a reverse tableau of the 1st press of the CD. Sound quality on this is great. I had such low hopes and I'm so impressed. Anyone who has been waiting years to buy this because they actually want to listen to it are in for such a treat. Also a HUGE fuck you goes out to very special VCer, who despite knowing that my friend in line behind him was also a longtime member of the boards and chatting with him for most of the wait, bought the only two copies that shop got.

If I read one more variation of "hay guyz wut if they troll us and it's not actually de Jah in the bag?" I'll... I'll... Wear a grimace and shake a fist at my screen. We get it already.

Time + effort =/= talent

It pains to say this but there is no way Built To Spill could have sold out the Shrine without Brand New on the bill. And I would guess that at least 70% of attendees would have left after Brand New's set had Built To Spill played last. So yeah. It feels wrong but it's just logical for them to open. All I can do is be glad that 100s of Brand New fans got exposed to my heroes and that at least Jesse Lacey acknowledged the bizarreness of them playing after legends.

Yeah I should have qualified AOTY so far? But yeah. This album is equal parts These Arms Are Snakes and The Vines. Very happy.

So good live. They opened their set at the Roxy with it, but I was late and missed it. Stoked I was able to catch it this time around.

Drip drip... I was going to wait until RSD to spin this, but I'll be camping Saturday through Sunday and it will be nice to have for all the driving I'll be doing. Full disclosure: I'm definitely seeking it for sound quality. I know that plenty of Brand New collectors value variants and rarity over sound quality, though, which is why i'm offering trade + cash for either of my currently-owned copies (both of which are valued higher in the marketplace). I realize $60 is lowish, but it's the area around which I'd like to start my negotiations with any willing seller

If you honestly call them "Reese's Peanut Butter Cups" I think you're the outlier. There was a massive ad campaign in the 90s that encouraged people to refer to the candy as the name of the company. "There's no wrong way to eat a Reese's."

Yeah I would say Built To Spill are about 50/50 good/bad with their album artwork. Seeing them tomorrow night and can't wait to pick up the new album on Saturday.
