  1. New song is very "I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spin Light." Live version was more aggressive. And neither of those things are bad.
  2. The demos? Yeah. Adam and John need autotune. Notable for the original version of Your Own Disaster for sure, though.
  3. This attitude is stupid. I personally have no dire need for the physical copy and there's no way I'd pay $100+ for it but I would certainly love to hear a lossless rip of it. Love the album but have always thought it was compressed within an inch of being unlistenable. You're basically saying that you won't share because you think you'll decrease demand at your price-point if you do. Also, anyone who would buy it with the intent of keeping it for their ears only is selfish. All this said, it's yours to do with as you please and you have no obligation to anyone. Major bummer, though, if it really is what you say and it just disappears in to someone's personal collection.
  4. Feeling very fortunate that the email came through for me and that I happened to have my account page open the moment it arrived. Very sorry for those who missed out, but there are still some awesome and very limited variants available.
  5. This may be of interest to you: http://emilles.dyndns.org/software/out_apx.html
  6. Ludicrous. Depends on the song, certainly, but there are definitely audible differences between many high bitrate lossy files and their lossless counterparts. These differences are minor, of course, and probably don't matter to everyone. But saying that lossless is for data preservation only is ignorant.
  7. This. Offer one service and match Spotify's price. Put an option in the app to stream lossless only on wifi for those worried about data charges.
  8. Really interesting to see all the negative opinions going on in this thread. I read this less as a "cash grab" and more as an attempt by some of the older, more successful musicians to preserve the industry for a new generation. Like it or not, streaming is the future of music consumption. And while Tidal definitely needs to iron out it's kinks ($20 a month for lossless is ludicrous), I can see this being a very good thing. Artists complain all the time about streaming paying them pennies. If Jay Z and co. can provide a streaming service that pays artists acceptably and with its focus on the consumer as they're claiming, awesome. They definitely have my attention.
  9. Can confirm that the EU press has none of the IGD problems that plagued the US press. It would be awesome if they recut the set when they do a US repress. But seeing as it was widely complained about at release and nothing was done then, I seriously doubt that will happen.
  10. From the band's Facebook page: I mean. If you press 1000 180 gram 2XLP sets on colored vinyl with a full-color gatefold, they would cost about what? $15 each? Probably less, given Warner's business relationships. I have a feeling the most Warner could have charged the band for these would be about $20 per. More realistic pricing would be like $35 standard $50 for the autographed clear 180 gram, on the high end of a conservative estimation.
  11. Streamed yesterday and...meh. Not one memorable song outside Black Sun. Reports of "best album since Plans" are wildly overstated.
  12. That new track is great. Pretty excited for this album.
  13. Saw them in LA and to chime in on their live presence, it was a really interesting. I myself am only really interested in Hyperview when it comes to this band. That said, I expected to hear some older material, just not nearly as much as I did. I would say they played two old songs to every song they played from Hyperview. And they didn't play Dizzy, which...I mean, just why? The crowd was something else, though. 2/3 of people at the show couldn't care less about the Hyperview songs and were clearly only there for the old stuff. What I didn't understand was the viciousness of the moshing for what, to my ears, are pretty straightforward post-hardcore jams. I also saw about 100 stage dives. Is that a thing for Title Fight or what? Stage dive selfies galore made me very very sad for the state of the scene. If there is a silver lining, I was turned on to the song "Head In The Ceiling Fan" from Floral Green. Great track. But I seriously predict Title Fight's fragmented fan-base becoming a problem as they begin to phase older material out of their sets in favor of new songs, especially if they continue down the path they've taken with Hyperview.
  14. This album is so good. What a long way he's come since Damiera. Shame it's mastered so loud. I guess the EPs were as well, so don't know what else I expected really.
  15. Honestly I like both these new songs quite a lot. Built To Spill always seem to meet my expectations for new material.
  16. Bummer. One of the first online vinyl retailers I discovered when I started collecting. I bought my current turntable and quite a few LPs from them over the years.
  17. I totally felt like the wife would send the husband to jail for 30 years just to keep the money. Really felt like that's where it was going.
