  1. Yeah, all of the Dead covers are unofficial. I'm just trying to find one with that cover. I'm hoping the orange is a new press and will pop up somewhere. I'm not trying to spend a ton on an unofficial press, but I want that damn cover!
  2. So there is an orange splatter of this that has recently popped up on eBay. Does anyone know if that is a new bootleg out in the world? I've tried searching around the interwebs for it but can't find it or info on it anywhere. Please share a link here if you are a better sleuth than I am and can find it. I need this dumb record in my life.
  3. Welcome back to VC, but you will probably need to rethink that price for the set to realistically sell it here or anywhere. According to Popsike, it looks like it has never sold for more than $425(2012) with the last sale being $211 on May 29. You could potentially get to that $500 if you sold them individually, but I doubt you will get that much as a full set. Or maybe I'm wrong?? Either way, good luck with your sale.
  4. Bumping an old topic, but this only $25 at MusicDirect right now: https://www.musicdirect.com/vinyl/Johann-Johannsson-Mandy-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack-(Colored-Vinyl-LP)
  5. I cleaned my copy last weekend with my Spin Clean, and I am more than happy with the sound quality. Shred to death!
  6. I'm sure all the TMR items I "need" will go up in the Vault novelties store the second I cancel.
  7. This seems like a bad idea to me, but they are your records so stack away. Get it, girl! Personally, I have an extra Expedit in the closet for the empty boxes and records I don't listen to very often but can't bring myself to sell.
  8. Don't waste your time; I was just joking. I have no idea what number I have because I think it has six digits, ha. I don't keep box set records in the box if they have actual sleeves. All of my box set boxes are in a closet because I listen to the records more when I don't have to take the extra step to open a box.
  9. Beginning on April 29th 1973 and lasting for another six evenings, the "A Week To Remember" concerts dreamt up by music industry icon Clive Davis were a stunning way to highlight the Murderers Row line-up of artists that were then signed to Columbia Records. With highlights like Miles Davis, the Staples Singers, Bruce Springsteen, Earth, Wind and Fire along with many others, the seven nights of shows at the Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles was, by all accounts, a remarkable showcase of the clout the legendary label wielded. Of particular interest is the live performance by Johnny Cash. Touching on just about every song one would wish for him to play at a concert in 1973, the stacked set list includes choice guest appearances from both his wife June Carter Cash and fellow Sun Records alumnus, Carl Perkins. Opening with the iconic "Big River" through a heavy take on Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Morning Coming Down" a breezy jaunt through "A Boy Named Sue" to "Hey Porter" to "I Walk The Line" to "Jackson" and "Folsom Prison Blues" it's a wonder at how many downright PURE hits were just...the songs in his set. Third Man Records, in conjunction with Sony Music and the estate of Johnny Cash are ecstatic to release A Night to Remember. Presented here for the first time ever is the full show multi-track recording of Cash's performance from that spring night of 1973. A master class in a show if there ever was one, this production holds up with Cash's previous live albums while still exposing a side to the Man in Black not displayed on his canonical sets from San Quentin and Folsom Prison. Pressed on two discs on a new vinyl color we’re calling “vintage white", this double LP is yet another prime entry in the already-expansive Cash discography. As if that weren't enough, Davis had the foresight to professionally FILM these concerts. While not capturing the entire set, the revelatory backstage footage is worth the price of admission alone. The high-quality, multi-camera shoot is gorgeous and immediately transports the viewer back forty-plus years and this previously unseen moment of Cash in full command of his performance and a crowd just lapping it up. Over the past several years, Grammy Award Winning producer John Carter Cash has embarked on an ambitious project pairing both lyrics and poems written by Johnny Cash and placing them with current artists to create an entirely new collaboration. The Forever Words album of 2018 was inspiring and continuing on that path, a 7-inch including two previously unreleased Forever Words pieces accompany this package. We couldn’t be more excited to have the inimitable Ruston Kelly sharing his earth-shaking romp on “Dark and Bloody Ground.” On the flip side, a super-secret MYSTERY ARTIST to be revealed soon. Feel free to start guessing. It's a doozy. Pressed on jaw-dropping gold colored vinyl, this single is a thing of pure beauty. We can think of no better way of not only keeping the music and memory of Johnny Cash alive than by these collaborations with artists out there today who we feel are both important and worth sharing with the Third Man world. Sign up now to receive this package, the deadline for orders is midnight local time July 31st. A Night To Remember 2 x LP 1. Big River 2. Sunday Morning Coming Down 3. The City Of New Orleans 4. 10. I offered the CDs to my dad, but he declined. Dude, what number did you get!?! I got like 527843062 or something like that.
  11. I did the initial $100ppd for all three deal on these, but then sold two of them for $50 each. Take that, Dollar General!
  12. I believe so. Sorry for any confusion. Scruffy forgot to turn on his sarcasm font. Maybe they're better now, but I was burned by them quite a few times that I don’t order anything from them anymore. Scruffy is stubborn.
  13. This is all very true. I'm definitely in that middle ground. I still go for the limited if I can get it easily or it's not much more expensive (>$5). I still buy tour copies things like that. I guess what I meant is that I am only buying one copy of records these days. I've also gone back to sell limited color copies, just to buy a black copy of the same record and a few other with the sale of that one. The hobby is really funding itself for me as well. So I'm right there with you!
  14. That is very true, but then I feel like the kid who takes the ball home after not being picked for a team. But we digress. I'm sure the people who follow this thread are irritated by the constant notifications that aren't directing them to this record. Sorry, folks.
  15. You are on the right path, my son. You have taken the first step toward the darkness of black vinyl. Luckily, I don't have to camp for RSD. I have a little store in town that gets everything, and I only have to show up around an hour before opening and I'm within the first 10 in line. It's pretty great.
  16. Right about the same time for me, cheers. I tell myself all the time that I see the spine of my record sleeve 99.8% of the time anyway, so it really doesn't matter what color is in there. I still have some blind spots in this approach, but I'm okay with that.
  17. Yessir! My record collecting focus is starting to shift toward just buying one copy on regular old black vinyl. I get to buy more records, my bank account remains steady, and I'm not stressed about getting an order in for a limited copy. A friend of mine said that because of this new outlook I am achieving vinyl nirvana.
  18. I can't get the site to accept my address, so fuck it. I barely want to pay $15ppd for a black copy of this because it's so short, so what am I even doing here? haha Good luck to all on JPC!
