Homemade bootlegs of commercial releases are about as cool as CD-Rs.

People who ordered black copies from Amazon.de got them for $29.88 shipped, that's the best i've seen.

I've been using the Hunt EDA Mark 6 for almost a year and am super content with it. Make it a habit to do a quick brush before each play, use the ole' Magic Eraser if your stylus gets any junk on it, Spin Clean your super dirty records and you will be good to go.

I use the Sleeve City double bristle brush. Works really well!

This is beyond stupid.
FLAC to vinyl? So you don't even own the CD? And like other people said, $60 for a bootleg?
You will get sued.

jaba1337 reacted to 3arl in From First To Last- Dear Diary BOOTLEG
you should just keep doing this as a hobby for you and your friends if you guys have fun with it, but do not sell anything or talk about it on the internet, because you will be sued for a lot of money
you should really ask the mods to delete this thread too, because it's pretty damning

Sometimes you can ask the submitter/contributors in the comments on discogs to add info. Give it a shot... http://www.discogs.com/history?release=622155#latest

jaba1337 got a reaction from Klefki in PO Now: Sleepwave - Broken Compass (ex-Underoath)
This would've been insanely popular in 2002. Reminds me of a lot of early 00s nu-metal/radio rock. Linkin Park, Stabbing Westward etc etc. Needs more autotune as well....

Compared the gold pressing to the HT Peach/Tan marble pressing. The HT pressing has lots of background noise and sounds like it is being played through a 1990s plastic GPX boombox, hollow. The Gold pressing is very clear and bright sounding, almost a bit too bright at times. I picked up a little bit of clipping/distortion on the vocals. The gold pressing also seems to lack a little bit on the low end compared to the CD. Overall, this new pressing sounds a million times better than the HT pressing I have and I am very happy with it.

I hate MOV.
Edit: Contrary to what I originally thought, they actually didn't do any of their reissues, but they still have the worst prices.

This is not a lathe cut. They were just stating the lathe machine they use to cut the first record. They use that to make the stamper like mentioned previously.

It should be the standard way to ship vinyl.
No superfluous plastic going into the trash and no seam splits.

jaba1337 reacted to mindless in PO: THE MARS VOLTA De-loused In The Comatorium 2LP
Not quite sure where the hostility is coming from. All I did was send some pics of my torn sleeves and asked if they had any extras. The sleeves are pretty damn nice, being printed and all. It didn't seem that far fetched to think they might have some replacements. I mean, if they did have extras I would've paid for them + shipping. Wasn't asking for anything free. And just wanted to see if they would actually reply to my email.

jaba1337 got a reaction from Circasurprise90 in Blink 182 splatter vinyl series Hot Topic exclusive (update posted Jan '15)
180 gram isnt going to make it sound any better. A crappy master is a crappy master, doesnt matter how heavy the vinyl is. EOTS was never mastered with audiophiles in mind, its a pop punk record that was insanely popular. I doubt anyone wants to bother properly remastering it for vinyl

They've hidden it on the vinyl itself but you have to scratch away the silver color lottery ticket style.
