I know the cost is prohibitive for most at this point, but I can't stress enough how good the original pressings of all of their albums and singles/EPs are... you're not doing yourselves any favors by listening to counterfeits.

Frankly, I think the hypothetical situation is a little different.  The grocery store in this situation is the record label ("Oh my god this label bought some plastic for a dollar and they pressed some grooves on it and now they're selling it for $25??? wtf!!!")
 
The situation of flipping is much different... Imagine someone went into your grocery store, and bought all the bananas for $1 each. Then they set up a little stand right outside the grocery store, and sold the same bananas for $5 a piece (ebay).
 
Then you are like "Forget this shit! I'll go to the other grocery store." But, when you get there, you find that all of THEIR bananas are gone too, and there's a guy outside THEIR store selling bananas for $3 each (discogs).
 
There's one more grocery store in a 50 mile radius and you go there and there's another guy selling bananas for $2 each outside (VC or other niche forums).
 
Eventually you say fuck it, and pay the higher price. You either want bananas or you don't. But, it's the people buying the bananas in order to make their own profit (flippers) on top of the grocery store's own profits (record labels) that cause the price to go from $1 to $5.

Jack's a record collector at heart - I know he secretly likes having the scarcity of GBMS over people's heads. It's like when I see people on eBay paying $200+ for a copy of Tom Petty's Wildflowers, which I don't even like that much but won't sell because I just like having something a lot of other people don't.

this is the 20th anniversary of Live Through This - was thinking they might do something around that. it's the only Hole album I can stand, but damn it's a good one. would totally be all over a reissue.

I like this one a bit better than EP1... last song sounds like a FB solo, but the others are more in line with my expectations for Pixies music (though I think Andro Queen from the first EP is the best of the new tunes so far). Still miss Kim Deal's backing vocals.

That Vault package should have been for singles around Get Behind Me Satan... I don't know what he's waiting for.
