Yeah prices are a touch high, but there is free shipping. And the inventory is fantastic, really. I haven't found another online store that puts as much effort into their used inventory outside of maybe Records by Mail, but their site is chore. I check Amoeba once a day to see what new stuff they have listed and I've been able to get some of my high wants from their used postings over the past 4-5 years. And these coupons make it even better.

The only expedits I've ever seen collapsed are by people with very low IQs standing them on their sides so the braces for the shelves are horizontal. That meant all the weight was resting on the wooden dowels. Natural selection.

scored a copy of Sausage's "Riddles Are Abound Tonight" (Les Claypool's brief 90s side project)... been looking for this one for a looooong ass time at a good price (ie, under $100) and finally saw one come up on Discogs. super stoked.

Like, I get the idea of limited presses or variants being cool to own or whatever.  But at the end of the day, vinyl is more of a music medium than a Beanie Baby.  There are plenty of albums I own that have received nearly-identical represses.  And honestly, sure, it was nice owning them "from the beginning" and before everyone else.  But when they get repressed, I can acknowledge and embrace that it's now the time for other people to hop on board.  And I think that's fine and dandy.  Especially when we're talking about BOC-status albums that are only available for $100 - $300, presently.
 
Furthermore, no one is insisting that hardcore BOC fans - who own the OG discography - have to buy these represses.  That's on you.  I traded a valuable record for my MHTRTC, earlier this year.  I knew that a repress was potentially on the horizon, but I opted to do it anyway.  Am I sour about it?  Absolutely not.  Am I miffed that the repress is going to be nearly identical to the copy I own currently?  Nope.  If anything, I'm stoked that more people will finally be able to get their hands on it.  Especially fans of the band who weren't privy to the vinyl game back when copies initially went up.  Fans who've been waiting.

splitting this album on 2LPs seems pointless to me, even at 45 rpm. I'd rather have 2LPs of bonus content... Nevermind was brickwalled to hell and back, so I don't have high hopes for In Utero. I'll happily stick with my EU Albini mix.

I got one to listen to and one to keep sealed. Not many records I would do that for, but these seem like they'll be amazing. It's not often that my record nerd and movie nerd funny bones get tickled at the same time...

dang, this year keeps getting better and better. and the best stuff is the "comeback" albums from folks who have been away a long ass time (Bowie, MBV, Wire, QOTSA, Suede, Daft Punk, etc). Here's hoping Mazzy Star (and NIN) continues the trend.

Dino Jr is beyond selling out. They've earned every dime they license... I'm glad they can finally make some bucks.
