her - "i have it on vinyl so I know that makes it worse"
me - "hah, me too, but I have 3 copies of it"
her - "well, my ex gave it to me, so you might win for quantity but I win for sappy story"
me - "did he give it to you, break up with you, and tell you that listening would help?"
her - "hahah no this was pre-break up.  the breakup album was by waxahatchee.  anyways, why do you have so many copies?"
me - "I like to collect all of the color variants".
 
end of conversation.  we never spoke again.

Well that's just dumb stance all around, I mean he's going to flatten someone with that attitude. 

Absolutely not, even before records were regularly pressed in wacky colors there were uber-fans of artists buying multiple copies of specific records even if only the sleeves or matrix codes were different. There's nothing to be totally bewildered by, people just do that shit because they want to. You're not going to embarrass them into stopping, let them spend the money they earn anyway they want.

I know, right? There must be 280 of those stored away in a basement somewhere. There were 500 grey ones and they pop up all the time, but the clear is ridiculously evasive. I snagged one on Discogs once but the seller was a scam. I don't know if he actually had it in his possession and simply didn't ship it, or if he didn't have it at all. Either way, he failed me.

i love ttc but refuse to buy anything from  them directly. i ordered a shirt a few months back, never got anything, sent an email, got a response that orders were about to be shipped out, more time passes and i asked them about it again, they said it was out of stock, i asked for a refund, no response x2. i get the whole diy merch thing but if you can't handle it properly don't do it imo.

I love this guy, it's so ridiculous. Ordered without hesitation, that hot pink aint no middle of the mall shit.
They should have done an aquaberry dolphin blue/hot pink swirl though.

Also as a side note, just went through a bunch of posts on instagram and apprently a lot of others who supposedly ordered the colored variant received just a black copy. When they asked why they didnt receive their copy the excuse was "First come first serve" I havent seen anything yet about anyone who has yet to get their colored copies. Someone also asked what the color copies were supposed to look like and the response was "it's a secret." The kid who's apperently running all the merch really hasn't given anyone straight answers about anything as far as when anything will ship/descrption of the limited copies. Just kind of avoids the specific questions. DIY OR DIE... Really makes me wish I didn't order from these guys I've heard nothing but negative things from their preorders in the past but I was expecting much more a of a better result since they promoted the crap out of this record but apperently I was wrong. Never again. 

Is there any other way to help??

Jason Tate has turned more people on to good music than anyone who has written in this thread. He doesn't seem to "get" why vinyl should or shouldn't be expensive but that doesn't make him some sort of monster. His heart is in the right place.....his head? Not always. But I think he's done more good than not.
