  1. AND... Unsubscribing. Thanks all, it's been fun, and I enjoyed the Koz talk and occasional helpful links to buy albums that are always tricky to find in the wild.
  2. So glad I'm still subscribing to this thread. Better than Scandal. Just in general: You're going Media Mail via PayPal, right? Drop the extra $.23 on tracking confirmation. No mess, no hassle. I've had a few guys ask me, "Where's my package??" after 2 weeks and I've pointed out that tracking showed it being delivered to their PO a week prior. And suddenly it miraculously gets found....
  3. Send me $150, I'll send you back a paper bag with the words "BRAND NEW" stenciled on it. Still quite a bit cheaper than buying an RSD version, honestly.
  4. For those who live near Charlotte, NC, Lunchbox has a ton earlier today. Limit one per customer. That said, Scott was fairly sure they'd be sold out in a day or two, so might wanna call first if you're making a long drive. Also, I witnessed one girl buying her copy... along with a Crosley. You can't make this stuff up.
  5. Yeah, I'm with ya... I know Benny is the Holy Grail for everyone (possibly due to that price tag)... But Lost Dogs is the PJ I grew up on. More than half the tracks I had (still have?) on the original CD singles, or compilations (Leavin' Here was on a domestic violence benefit CD?). Some of them are ingrained in my DNA to the point that I was freshly surprised as I was spinning this.... I forgot they put the "wrong" versions of Wash and Alone on here. (Also, Dirty Frank minus all the funny vocals. That's a damn shame.) For those that care about this stuff, there was a tiny promo hole drilled in the top left corner. Still sealed otherwise. Corner was bent when I got it. Complaining about bent corners in this case, of course, is like complaining that your prime rib at the White House dinner was a little undercooked, so.... Also: Vinyl sounds really good. WAY better than Yield, or BS, or a lot of the singles. Not audiophile, but nice sound. Triple gatefold. Printed sleeves with the liner notes broken up by record. No hidden track.
  6. This makes up for 10 years of Pearl Jam basically ignoring the Southeast completely. I LOVE this set... And I would never have spent the kind of crazy money it goes for now. It sucks for those of you who got crap in your package tho.
  7. In fairness, AS has come through on almost ALL preorders in the past. Including SKM ones like Benji and Biko. Like literally every other online store NOT named Bullmoose, they got completely f**ked over by 4AD with the RHP set. (Short list of vendors who took preorders and got nothing: SSD, Elusive Disc, CD Universe, Barnes & Noble, every Amazon worldwide...) If Vinyl Films does this fairly, they SHOULD get some. Maybe not more than 5 or 10, but enough to fill a few preorders. Of course, if Vinyl Films follows the lead of 4AD and sends 8 copies to ONE store in Milwaukee but shafts everyone else, then all bets are completely off.
  8. Why NME hasn't been pressed on vinyl, but Pocket Full Of Kryptonite AND the first two Hootie records have.... Is one of life's great mysteries.
  9. Guys, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but they are NOT releasing a second RHP box. Let's list the reasons: 1) This "Box 2" would consist of TWO albums: Songs For A Blue Guitar, and Old Ramon. 2) Neither album is on 4AD. 3) Both albums are on completely separate labels with separate licenses. 4) Old Ramon already came out on vinyl via Sub Pop (OOP). 5) Songs already came out on vinyl via Plain (also OOP). I'm down for a reissue of Old Ramon via Sub Pop, and a reissue of Songs by... Well, ANYONE but Plain. (Love the album but that pressing was not good at all.) Knowing 4AD, the RHP Box Set 2 will simply be this identical set repressed, but minus the crack on Down Colorful Hill... And they'll force you to buy the entire thing again.
  10. I'd watch that just to see Koz standing behind Tim Allen for two hours, never speaking.
  11. Koz would never let that happen. Koz has a clause in his contract: "No represses of anything ever." Koz has a clause in his will saying all master tapes are buried with him, and all leftover vinyl burned in memorial.
  12. They're not the most user-friendly place, but I can't complain as I grabbed records I couldn't get anywhere else.
  13. I just got a shipping confirm from 1234Go at 8:30 tonight. Patience!
  14. There's a Hold Steady right now on Amazon for $23 plus shipping. I think the price on RSD was between $20 and $24 so that's pretty good if you want it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00W5V968Y/ref=tmm_other_meta_binding_new_olp_sr?ie=UTF8&condition=new&sr=8-1&qid=1429752264
  15. Is it just me, or do emails like this actually make you ANGRIER than just a "Sorry, we took your preorders and then we got nothing" email? SSD was the same way... Although I guess they gave you a better deal if you were OK with having $70 worth of store credit instead of a true refund. They act like, "Yeah, we screwed you, but look how we're gonna make it up to you! With this great exclusive deal!!" Nah, you're not. You're gonna offer the same deal that every website is offering to every customer, whether he/she tied up funds in a wasted PO or not. And it's a WORSE deal than 4AD's to boot....
  16. Yeah, but honestly... You will (probably) always be able to sell your box down the line and get that money back. If you REALLY have remorse, I'm sure you could sell it for above your cost right now while the frenzy is high. I'd pay someone a little $$ to give me their empty box. That'd be cool to store my black ones. Wasn't someone complaining they just stored their empty boxes on a shelf and didn't know what to do with them?
  17. OK yeah I might just do that. The store isn't close but if he posts that they have copies or I'm in the area, I'll try to snag my one.
  18. Well, I'm basing it on the guy who wanted to trade his extra RHP box for April plus the difference... But he wound up not getting anyone to trade, then he had folks offering money above the cost, then OTHER folks angry that he wasn't selling it for cost... It became a giant CF. I dunno. I probably shouldn't have posted anything. Or just a "I can probably get an extra but I'll only trade it for Tiny Cities plus I'll throw in some $$ to make up the difference".... But that sounds douche-y too. EDIT: Just so we're clear, I don't have an extra copy in hand. And the store might not even get the extra he thinks he's getting.
  19. Talked to my local shop this morning... He mentioned that a lot of stores had orders delayed and SHOULD be getting some allocation this week, so maybe wait a couple days on your local? That said, he thinks he's getting more copies. I asked about the possibility of posting his # here so you guys can order, but he says for an item this limited, he'd prefer to sell only to local customers. He suggested I *could* buy a copy when he gets more and just swap it with someone here for something I really want, but honestly the only RHP/SKM vinyl I'm really hunting anymore is Tiny Cities. And I don't see anyone giving that up. And before you guys flood my InBox (which is probably gonna happen anyway), I don't see a fair way to just buy one for the board and sell it for cost+shipping, since that "pick a person" method only screws the rest of you. And if I start getting offers from individuals, that's basically the same thing as flipping and I don't want to do that either.
  20. I thought these didn't ship til May??.... ...I have a PO at Acoustic Sounds, but based on their allocation of RHP (or lack thereof), I don't think that's coming though. If anyone's store is definitely getting extra, and you wanna help a brutha out, shoot me a PM with your store's phone #. I feel like that's a fair way to do it... The store's staff can then decide if they're cool with selling a copy to someone out-of-state for the cost + shipping, and you don't have to worry about spending your own cash & time.
  21. It's just a gut feeling. Most people assumed that the reissue of Ten (on vinyl, CD, super deluxe, etc) was the first round of a big reissue campaign. And then Vs. & Vitalogy were Round 2. And then, of course, playing No Code and Yield in their entirety. There's no solid proof... But PJ aren't touring now. They're not recording. No new album on the horizon. 2015 would be the perfect time to start the reissue campaign up again. (And you can take my opinion with a grain of salt, but I didn't think my OP of Yield was worth holding onto considering the stupid money it goes for now... I sold it last year assuming I'll be able to buy a reissue eventually.) I dunno, it's like paying $300 for Wildflowers by Tom Petty. There's nothing definite for a reissue, but the rumblings have been going on for a while, and I'm guessing an official reissue of that is coming this year. No Code and Yield feel like the same thing to me.
  22. You actually have a whole thread devoted JUST to your sale, in fact. Really happy to snag the Basement Tapes from you on Sunday! Hope it's not cancelled!
  23. Not to override the guy who runs the store, but when I called today around 6 PM a nice staff person told me they were sold out of the 130g. He also said they had quite a few of the 180g still... The price is significantly more ($45) but at this point it's impossible to find the 130 for much less than that, so I bit the bullet.... From what everyone's saying it's a fantastic pressing, even if the 180g isn't much different in SQ from the 130.
  24. As someone who once owned Yield... It's nothing special. Average sound, thin vinyl, just the diecut cover and printed sleeve. I suspect it's getting reissued this year and that version should (hopefully) trump the OP.
  25. BM just cancelled my dupe order for Boys & Girls In America. That said, looks like the listing is gone from their site now. But it might be worth refreshing just in case?....
