I was talking to someone at a local record store on 4/20 and he said they ordered the special version solicited through Third Man because they were offered a 100% refund but he was also solicited through their distributor with it still being a mystery release but he did not initially order those because he could not get a guarantee. Then after they figured out it was sleep he ordered through the distributor and had them early last week. So there probably are a bunch still sitting with distributors or in transit.

Yeah that new song is cool. I have yet to see the body perform any of there more “mellow stuff” live. Do they typically do these type of songs or stick to the loud stuff.
I have seen them at least once a year since 2011 and they have basically been playing the same 25 minute set with maybe 1 song variation for the last 5 years, except for the occasional all noise show. I love The Body, but I really wish their live show would reflect their rate of releases.

I have WIWV and I read some of it over Christmas break, and the new one has me hella interested. Even though they aren't connected to one another, I want to finish WIWV before I read Universal Harvester.
And at some point, the 33 1/3 book about Master of Reality, which I've heard nothing but good things about.
Master of Reality is fantastic. It was scary how similar it was to my own life. Loved Wolf in White Van. Just finished Universal harvester last night. Also loved it immensely although I think the hook that it is a horror novel about the weird video tapes sells it short. It is about the isolation of small midwestern towns, escapism, mothers, loss, and grief and how damaging and personal dealing with those things can be. I think there is more of an explanation to be found in the final section than many reviewers seem to give it credit for, but solving the "mystery" really misses the point. Mountain Goats fans should be fine though.

While we are on the memory lane highway: My most memorable show was probably Dive's last show at teh White Eagle with Chorus of Disapproval in 1994 or 6(?).
Dive were so goddamn good. I still spin the 1st 7 inch with some regularity. And the Get High demo material. Love that shit.

All the colored versions went to Amrep and Buzz/Mackie. There will be no colored vinyl in the standard sleeves for regular sale. Only the Amrep/Haze versions and the Buzz/Mackie versions. Stag will be coming the same way but the art for Stag is not done yet. At this time there is no plans for more Pricks, just the Haze versions and the Mackie versions that sold on Thursday night.

Last track starts as if it was a White 2 track.
Kannon 3 is basically Cannon from Domkirke, but shorter.

I just hope they tour the US again. It has been 6 years since I have seen them.

Oh man. This record just might be cursed to begin with. If Sleep was getting money off this perhaps none of this would've happened.
Deliberate pressing plant sabotage.
Sleep fucked themselves on that deal.
The remaining pressing plants are being pushed to the limits of the capabilities and it is increasingly becoming a problem.

For what it's worth, someone on the official Molina forum got this response from Shorebird yesterday:
The organizers have missed these soft deadlines ("update coming next week!") throughout the project, so I don't think we should get our hopes up. But, hey, it's something!
The dude used that line on me multiple times months ago when I was trying to get a refund. There is only one dude left on this project, David Silva, and he is 100% full of shit.

Rough Trade the shop and Rough Trade the label are two different entities.
That may be so but it does not change the fact that they were once one and the same. they still share the same logo, the store has been an institution for nearly 40 years, and the label put out a lot of great music that folks should check out if they are not familiar with Rough Trade.

I have had good luck getting a lot of these Earache FDR reissues from Amazon UK at much cheaper than getting them from Earache themselves or anywhere in the US. The low price guarantee and no VAT is very nice, so I just pre-order as soon as I see them go. I have gotten many for under $25 shipped. Unless you are worried about the most limited colors only available from Earache.

Is Rough Trade a legit site though? Has anyone bought anything from them before? Some UK sites can be a tad shady..
Do yourself a favor and check out some of the great music Rough Trade has released. They were a very important label.

Good luck getting a refund. It took me 2 months of constant contact by email and harassment by twitter and facebook for the guy to refund me. And there are many others out there who have asked for refunds and not received them. If you really want to get this guy's attention tweet to @weareshorebird asking about your money and include @secretlycndian and @thebedouin and @indiegogo. He hates that.

Where has this been talked about? Source?
Atlantic was willing to negotiate and license to Jack White where they were not willing to renew the license with amrep. They even found 2 extra stag era tracks on the master tapes.
-
Does that mean the dude is on this forum and reading this thread? Well, this would be the right place to give all your supporters an update.
It was because I was tweeting about it, and on the shorebird facebook page.

I requested a refund from that dude about 6 weeks ago, which he said he would be happy to do. I have yet to see a refund. He assured me many times it had been done by paypal, it never was. And he also promised a refund by mail 3 times, even going so far as giving me a fake tracking number once, and no refund that way either. This weekend I finally had enough and posted his email on the indiegogo comment page, the magnolia elec comp message board, and the shorebird facebook page since no one seemed to have any luck getting a reply from anyone. I also tweeted at a few people tangentially involved in the campaign. I got an immediate whiny email from the dude saying he didn't understand why I was doing this (because I put $110 into this, was not able to get any straight answers and was promised a refund and lied to multiple times). He complained that he was just on the verge of providing an update but his hands have been tied and now I am creating a situation for him. So that is why an update was finally sent out today. But this dude is not to be trusted. Note that the shorebird facebook and twitter pages have not been updated in months, until today they had not posted any feasible way of contacting anyone, and he has not been able to refund me, just one person. How the fuck are the gonna refund a bunch of folks?
-
Except they have not provided the email to contact them, and the guy can't be bothered to answer emails if you do have his email anyway. They put out that update because indiegogo is currently investigating the viability of their campaign.

This will be released on vinyl by Raw Sugar records at the end of the month. There will be 2 more EPs this summer, 1 on Community Records and 1 on Deathwish. The Magus album will be on Sacred Bones in August.
