Jeebus Krampus Almighty,  there's nothing worse than seeing a grown man complain about a couple of bucks, especially when that person is IN another country, and the shipping to and from is pricier, regardless of what you might say. I think the lathes sound pretty good, but then again, I expect them to not be great, because it's a different method that isn't foolproof. Besides, you'll probably end up flipping said items on discogs anyway.

Which you paid... And you have no idea what percentage of that was "handling". I'm not saying it isn't a dick move to promise to refund shipping and then not but it's also completely a good-will move for them to do so and I sincerely doubt Paypal is going to side with you just because you -think- you overpaid on shipping fees.
 
Anyway I finally just got my Athletics  shipping notification so I'm happy.

If you want a refund there are other ways of getting your money back. Demanding a partial refund on shipping because someone thinks shipping cost too much after the fact is so absurd and entitled.

They're in a band that people only check out because of a band name that was a joke between friends that aren't in the band anymore. I wouldn't care this much if they just changed their name and stopped riding former bandmates coattails. This is some Velvet Underground Squeeze shit now.

According to Maria from the Wolf Parade Fansite the signed copies had been delayed a bit but should be shipping out this week.

And that makes it painfully obvious that the others just aren't as good as her. So far we've had a keyboard song with boring ass guitars and now another song with boring ass guitars for five minutes before some brass instruments fuck shit up with the drums. I could teach someone the guitar part of this song in an hour even if they're hot trash at the instrument.
 
Also, D wrote most of the lyrics and songs from all their past releases sooooo that's more than just a guitar player like the band refers to her as lol. They may have lost just one member but when that member was responsible for like 50% of the band work while the other 5 or 6 make up the other 50 it's a big loss.

Officially don't have any expectations at all for this record anymore. Both songs completely lack the atmosphere and guitar tones that made me love this band. Even with all the new instruments and ideas it just feels so fucking flat. It isn't technically bad but whatever... the band only has like 2 members from their original core lineup anyways and it's very noticeable.

If I had a $15 order that was not fulfilled I would email her and tell her to keep my $15.  She's not running away with everyone's money and living the dream.  I know for a fact she needs the $15 more than I do, and it was never her intention to screw people over.
 
EDIT:  I'm not saying everyone should do this, just that I am lucky to be in a position where she can keep my $20 bill.

Was very happy to find Glimmer and an orange copy of Galactic Melt in the international store the other week. 
The Galactic Melt was listed as the Orange cover version but I figured that'd be way too good to be true.

I'm not a fan of becoming involved in discussions like these - but the culture of immediately dogpiling on someone after they say something insensitive is a little annoying.
 
Often people like Mike have very different intentions than what their text may convey to other people. I don't condone any of the deplorable misogynistic remarks many people make, and I'm not jumping to defend Kinsella, but everyone really needs to step back and take a look at how everyone, especially the person who made the mistake, is reacting.
 
Considering how soon Mike retracted the tweet and made ground to apologise, I don't think his intentions were anywhere near as dastardly as some might make them out to be. Twitter is harsh and the world of immediate black-and-white "you're either perfect or you're terrible" is an awful mindset to have. I am in no way trying to defend the actual, real, disturbing culture of misogyny - correcting him is a logical, good, reasonable step to do - I'm just asking people to not immediately go "well, he's terrible, I hate him now" off of one instance that very likely may have been a slipup in speech.

tl;dr: what he said was wrong, it was a bit shocking; but intentions are never clear especially on the internet: considering his reaction towards his fans, and his response to the situation, I would sit back and try not to immediately assume the worst of him. Correct the statement, explain why it was wrong, but don't demonise him off of one thing - we're all human beings.
