Have listened to this a few times now and my love for it is really growing. Preordered.

I also hate how expensive CT limiteds are. Makes that Minks limited an even better purchase, that album is so good.

In terms of the music, yes. Every song is mostly acoustic guitar, occasionally some strings. It's beautiful though and sounds amazing. The lyrics might be darker than Goodbye Bread's so I guess it depends on your definition of mellow.

I would have thought a step up to the bronze would have been a lot more significant (if your budget will allow). The blue and red use essentially the same cartridge body, the difference is the stylus. The bronze and black use an upgraded cartridge body and much better styli. Maybe keep using the red until its worn out and in the meantime save your cash for a bronze (or something else entirely).

I just purchased a 2M Red after having the intentions of getting the 2M Blue when I walked into the store. The store owner went down the specs list with me and showed me how little the difference was between these two cartridges. He also told me the Ortofon rep told him the biggest difference between the two was the lifespan of the Blue. Not sure if you've looked at the specs list for the 2M series, but you can check it out here. Apparently sound quality is very similar. 
 
I've never heard the Blue, so my opinion is solely based on the Hi-Fi shop owner I bought my Red from. He suggested I either get the Red or the Bronze and skip the Blue altogether. Hope that helps in your decision!

With that being said. It doesn't bother me that people are more interested in obtaining the actual record. You pulled the "I've been here for a long time card" yadi yadah no one cares. If people want to post about where they can find a certain color who cares. A lot of people come here for information vs talking about it. Maybe because people like you chastise others for not talking about the music the "right" way. Instead you go on complaining about snippet responses and that's just so douchey man. It's douchey and pretentious, that's the bottomline. If you rub people the right way you'll get the responses you are looking for. From what it seems to me you want to be above everyone and keep them beneath you by making everyone feel small for not discussing the actual music. Not cool man. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure we all love your idea of talking about the actual record, but don't be so above it to the point you insult the whole of the thread.

Picked up a copy today at my local store, standard black vinyl for me. Feels really nice and it sounds great so i'm happy
