i probably shouldn't even post in this thread because i'm gonna totally date myself but...

first records I ever bought with my own money were

Culture Club - I'll Tumble 4 Ya - 12" Single

Duran Duran - Is There Something I Should Know? - 12" Single

it was '83. I was nine years old. I used birthday money to buy them.

My first record was either the Ataris/Junglefish 7" or LTJ's Live From Japan 2x7" from the LTJ/Hot Water Music tour March 2002 I think. My first LP was probably Can't Slow Down on clearance in a Hot Topic around February 2003.

i think the ataris/junglefish split might have been mine too. that or allister "you can't do that on vinyl" 7"

The first record I ever bought with my own money was a split 7" by a couple of metal bands: Apocalypse & Transgression. I bought it at an Endpoint show back in '88 or '89...There were some dudes selling merch and records and I picked this up. Still have it to this day.
