I wouldn't be against this but it's not my call. Might I suggest you start a poll to get the Admins attention?

I was thinking a section for all non-vinyl formats would be cool.  Cassette stuff could go in there instead or being relegated to single thread.

Does it seem like there's enough of a need and enough support for something like that to make it worth pursuing?

Thought that was Jay Baruchel at first, then realized it wasn't.

Adding all kinds of other formats is where is gets a little hectic. This IS the Vinyl Collective, which is why I think the powers that be are apprehensive about adding secondary format boards. Cassettes have more or less become the second most popular physical format (in my opinion), but more boards = more time spent moderating them, and in case you guys haven't noticed I'm the only mod at the moment.

TL;DR - I'd be down for a cassette sub-board, not so much a CD or MiniDisc sub-board.

I have some pretty cool rare CDs

How about a 7x Floppy Disc release? Where will that go?

In the garbage because no one owns floppy dics! :D

In all seriousness, there are a few bands with floppy releases that I want.  It's total novelty and I would have to find a drive to even play it, but I like it for some reason.  Sucker for some gimmicks I guess.

Regarding CDs, I lost interest when they went from being something I used to something that went into my computer once and went on a shelf.  I get why people want CDs (or any physical media really), but I find it a pretty foreign concept to use them to listen to.  I don't even own a CD player at this point.  If I want to rip/listen to something, I have to use my work computer.

I have bought more cds this year than I have in a long time. Still love them, and even more now that I can always get them dirt cheap! I buy used cds regularly for less than most new cassettes costs these days.

There have been several 2015 releases that I bought a $8-$10 cd instead of a $20-$30 LP. While I prefer vinyl, the format really doesn't matter to me that much.
