Wow, that's... nice. Shame it's sold out, I mighta hopped on that.

It's weird, a lot of people tag themselves vaporwave when really it's just this nu-disco 80's revival sample junk. I feel like very little vaporwave is actually quality stuff but I find myself enjoying the nu-disco stuff a lot more consistently, maybe a little more on the dancey Saint Pepsi or LAYBAC side.

vaporwave just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, like its just a pretentious "hipster" genre or whatever. but i love that beat shit.

Gotta admit Macintosh Plus was a favorite vaporwave thing for awhile, but I've given up hope of ever laying hands on that tape. It hit 400 bucks on ebay which is insane. I've even emailed the artist pleading to just make some more tapes, since there's obviously demand, but I got no response.

Discogs listing is at 549 holy shit. I was looking around at it and it looks like the same artist produces under like 20 different names

Yep, she/he's been busy.

I get that limited quantity gives cassettes some extra charm and value, but no cassette should ever be worth 500 bucks. I feel like at that point the artist is... not obligated per se, but heavily encouraged to make a 2nd pressing. Such an easy way to make fans happy, discourage flipping and make a couple bucks. The demand is there, people will already spend 400 bucks on one, you could sell em for 15 each and people would BUY them. I dunno. I'm just bitter I don't have a tape, I slept on that when it came around. Even Insound was selling them.

I just put out a tape for my friends La Haine.  The record is called "As Seasons Change, So Do You".  If you like stuff like Orchid, Funeral Diner, Neil Perry, or newer stuff like Touche Amore or Pianos Become The Teeth, you'll dig these guys.

You can listen to the full album here: crownandthroneltd.bandcamp.com

You can buy it here: crownandthroneltd.bigcartel.com

Also if you are a fan of the black metal or close subgenres of black metal, check out my friend Kneeko's label called Grimoire Cassette Cvlture.  You can listen to all of his releases and buy tapes from him here:

If you're into noise / electronic tapes, these two are fucking gems.

Goddamn Electric Bill - Swallowed By The Machines

They also release a TON of other cool shit from indie pop / garage / black metal etc.

I just ordered a tape and they sent me two extras with buttons and sorts of shit AND they have a 20% off code POOTIETANG right now as well.

And I just pre-ordered that Astro Cowboy tape which sounds so good. If you like bands like Joyce Manor I think you'd dig it.

And they did the Literature - Arab Sping cassette as well.

I've released quite a few tapes.  Only a few are OOP now like Muscle & Bone, Family Cat, Discourse.

What I have in print now is the following:

Crosseyed – S/T EP (mem. Of Family Cat, Springtime, Tiger Tail)

Fever./The Kids’ Crusade tape (mem. Of This Routine is Hell)

Colour Me Wednesday – I Thought It Was Morning

Pizza Underground – Demo Cassette featuring Macaulay Culkin

Ivadell – The Young Design  (members of Discourse and False Light)

Sundale – S/T cassette NEW

The Fake Boys – Demo 2013 tapes NEW (I don’t have too many left – Limited to 50)

Manalive – S/T cassette NEW

Man the Change – Defeated cassette

If anyone was interested, I'd put together a box of one of all these and whatever random free shit I can fit in for $35.00 PPD.  It's a mix of genres, but would be quick start for a cassette collection and a cheap way to discover some new music.  PM me if you would be into that.

That Ivadell tape alone is worth $35.00.

Great band.

Lubec - The Thrall

Untitled-1.jpg

Somewhere in the lovely city of Portland, Or resides a group of pop wizards who've conjured up some mystical pop wonders, put them in a bundle and called it, The Thrall.

That band is called Lubec.

Each track on this album builds in such an organic fashions that it leaves you wanting more at the end of every measure. Blending shoegaze melodies with poppy hooks, Lubec constructs each song with absolute precision making this one record that you will not forget.

It's pure genius.

Limited to 50 copies on Rhodamine Red, you shouldn't wait on this one!
