They seem to be moving in a similar crunchy direction like Nothing, but this track doesn't have the hooks of Chloroform or July 4th. It reminds of old Metric, which I really dig. Honestly not blown away first pass through on the previously unreleased, but that is not always a bad thing, as several albums in my collection have turned into favorites as growers. Some of their old sound is there which I really like (Murasaki), but I read somewhere they were going more 'dreampop' on this 2xLP -- but I don't get that overall vibe, hard to describe more than just generic I guess. Also, it was a stressful day. 9 more listens before rendering a verdict. The pressing itself is pretty good. Typical bit of noise first few revs each side, that goes away. Long delays are becoming more and more the norm, especially for smaller labels who the pressing plants are less concerned with keeping happy.
