selfreliable
You guys have a decent site to stream baseball games? I bought mlb.tv, but am blacked out from watching the Tigers. Don't have cable. Firstrowsports.eu You click on the baseball tab and then the game you wanna watch. You might have to download a program to watch the game, but it is safe. Sucks you sprung for the MLB package and are blacked out
thebiglebowski
Thanks, but that is based on streamtorrent, which isn't compatible with Linux. I guess I have to just use my windows laptop.
selfreliable
Then I got no idea as Im not familiar with Linux in any way.
travis
Pleased with CJ Wilsons first start as an Angel. Gotta get that offense going though! Kendrys is on fire so far this year. Great to see him back.
BuzzersonKillwell
Where are the Reds getting all this money?
thebiglebowski
Where are the Reds getting all this money? Its not like they had to come up with a $300 million check. They made commitments to pay it over the next decade. Any small market team can use the same strategy. They usually don't, though, because they are risk averse and would rather let a franchise player go than be stuck with a bad contract. dynamitekid
Not sure if I would tie that much into Brandon Phillips. He's good but I would think that you could use that money elsewhere
selfreliable
When it comes to 2nd base though, the pickings are slim. Might as well tie up one of the better ones in the game. Besides Cano, Kinsler and Pedroria there isnt much left. Considering it is much easier to find good production from 3B and OF than it is 2B it is a good move on the Reds to recognize this and lock him up during his best years. flood
going to see Yanks v. Angels on saturday.. i think we're getting CJ Wilson vs Hughes. If anyone else is going we'll be having a decent sized group tailgating before the show. i will either be busting Travis's balls after the game, or him busting mine. God i love baseball season. travis
haha Looking forward to watching that Angels/Yankees series. So if Kinsler and Phillips are getting that kind of cash in extensions, what does Cano get? Dude is a legit MVP contender nearly every year and is the best all around player at 2B. He's should easily crack the $100M mark for his next contract.
selfreliable
I hope that he gets more than that. He is the best in the game right now at his position, though that position doesnt seem to lend to long careers and producing at that level. travis
I could see Cano getting like $108-$110 over 6 years in an extension or maybe like 7 years/$126. On the open market he'd end up getting more than that though. He might be trying to test the FA market after next year though, he did recently hire Boras. thebiglebowski
Could easily see Cano getting 6 years at $120 million
flood
i would think Cano is gonna bank $25M a year... he's young, a fan favorite, very good defensively, and untouchable offensively at his position.
travis
I dont think Cano is getting $25/year. Id think closer to $20M/year tops. Thats more per year and Votto got, then again we are talking about the Yankees

Id think closer to $20M/year tops.Thats more per year and Votto got, then again we are talking about the Yankees i think everyone else in the yanks infield is getting more than $20M... and he's the most valuable
dynamitekid
I don't think Jeter makes $20 million. And I don't think that cano should make $25 million. That would be $10 million more than Ian Kinsler just got per year.
thebiglebowski
Jeter makes about $17 million. I do believe he was over $20 million at one point, but not anymore. And if we are comparing Cano to Kinsler, Cano is in a tier by himself at second base as a hitter. Plus, Kinsler is so fragile it is going to affect his ability to get a high-dollar long term deal. Cano, on the other hand, is one of the most reliable players in baseball, making teams less leery of committing lots of dollars to him. Soooo, if you think $15 mil/year is the right number for Kinsler's value, I believe Cano is worth an extra $5 mil on top of that. $25 mil/year seems like a Yankees "premium", but it could happen. Emo Revival
Marlins are looking sloppy tonight, on back to back plays they screwed up ball handeling allowing the Phillies to score, not that I'm complaining mind you...
travis
Damn, Trumbo just hit one into the second deck in left center at Target Field. That was a bomb! Its too bad he's so bad at 3B cause his power is off the charts. Im hoping they move him to LF or RF next year after Torii's contract is up. He could handle the OF pretty easily I would think. He's got a great arm. Would be nice to see Bourjos, Trout and Trumbo in the same OF.
selfreliable
Indians sign Damon. Should be about a week till he is ready to play. Trumbo, Bourjos and Trout would be a scary sight. Bourjos is unreal in the field, puts Hunter to shame at his peak.
travis
Yea Im hoping to get thru this season with Trubmo/Collaspo splitting time at 3B then move Trumbo to the OF next year and Im sure Trout will be up by then. At that point Wells will be that (extremely overpriced) version of what Abreu is this year.
travis
Ugh, the Angels pen is fucking awful. I knew that going into the season but god damn they fucking suck hard. Their offense and starting pitching has been off to a slow start but Im sure that will all come around any day now. This pen is fucking terrible and needs some help badly.
