privateeye
Hello all, long time lurker, 1st post. I recentlry bought the Alkaline Trio repress but noticed that it is missing the track 'Exploding Boy'. Does anyone know why this is? Mistake? Could it make them more valuable if so? Thanks! punkrockvinyl25
the song orig. was on a comp. they put it on the cd version. all i can say (due to im not mike or ALK3) is the obvious, it's not on the 12". this release doesn't fail due to this. i would just be thankful that it was put on vinyl. it's a good record. no the best ALK3 record but it's holds it's own. funny story about the cure cover. once i was with my ex and we were driving in her car and put this cd on. it just happend to be on exploding boy and i was like "wow alk3 covered the cure" and she replied with " this is an alk3 song, this isn't a cover" i wanted to smack the shit out of her. ok im done. flood
pressing plants are alot more anal about cover songs and samples now than they were 10 years ago... thats probably the reason.

You have no idea how many times I've come close to smackng people for thinking that Johnny Cash wrote Hurt and not covered a NIN song... I feel your pain

flood
i'd wonder if they did actually pay it?

flood
the albums over 40 minutes... maybe they cut it for time?
thischarmingham
I think time is a pretty poor reason to cut tracks off the vinyl version of a record. I mean one song isn't as bad as those Rancid picture discs but still.
suburbanargyle
It could be the same kind of problem as the Ergs! (RIP) are having right now with their "Hindsight" album. The CD is out and available (at shows) but the vinyl is being held up by a Nirvana cover that they said they might have to take off the record. thischarmingham
It's easy as can be to get those things licensed.
sonix
I miss the song.. I was listening to it and thought something was out of place. It wasnt their best song.. or best song they played, but I still enjoyed it.

skumbucket
don't care at all. i think this is the only song i've ever consistently skipped every time on the early alkaline records. it's gross.
forgeagain
It costs 8 cents per copy per cover song. That's no obstacle to this since it would only be $160 total for 2000 copies.
