tim
I'm teaching social studies to grade 10 right now and I'm trying to think of some decent songs that deal with the sort of issues related to history, politics, environment, etc and also have clean lyrics. Something to play and discuss when there's extra time in class. I'm not looking for run of the mill anti-Bush songs from the last 8 years but something a little better. Any ideas? j4m35
i'm on a boat - saturday night life featuring t-pain but seriously, some of the songs off of bruce springsteen's nebraska have a lot of social commentary and its not the albums or songs the kids are likely to have already heard by him

Interesting story, when I went to try and see that in theater back home they mysteriously "lost" their copy of the film three days after it opened. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
does it have to be about the US? look at folk songwriters from Ireland in the 70's - 90's during the troubles, like tommy sands. there were roses or sons & daughters
