Snaggle Von Swift
yeah, they were trying to say you can't have multiple copies, including, if you purchase a physical cd, you're not allowed to rip it to your comp and put it on a mp3 player. AlexH.
Well, I don't run Kazaa all day with my illicit Flo Rida MP3s in a folder labeled "Shared Music I Stole Off the Internet", so I'm not really concerned.

I'm pretty sure that ended up being a misquote. They weren't trying to say you can't rip CDs, not to say they still don't have the most counter-logical stances ever. AlexH.
I believe so. I haven't used it in many years, but I'm guessing it will continue until people stop wanting only one song but being too stupid to use torrents.

scottheisel
I wonder if I'll get in trouble for downloading records I got promos of but couldn't get the stupid fucking copy protection to play on my stereo so i DL'd them to review. hm.... Are you on a PC? I have this ancient freeware program used originally for ripping CDs that is so old and so basic, it beats the copy-protection nonsense every time. Lemme know, I'll give you a link to it.

burdenx
I got one of these warning emails from comcast a couple years ago for downloading episodes of curb your enthusiasm off of a public tracker. Lesson learned, I only use private trackers now.

burdenx
PG2 started blocking everything, it was ridiculous. I was literally never seeding anything because nobody could connect.

ginbucketjacob
If it were not for torrents, I would never ever watch movies. As for music, if it is not on vinyl, I don't buy it. Oh and, hey RIAA:
