manicdogbert Posted March 30, 2009 Share Posted March 30, 2009 They have a policy of locking-in pre-order prices. Assuming they can meet demand, there's no reason for you to not get it for $16. The guarantee is only provided that they can get it in stock. They can always claim they weren't able to get stock or that it's still "on order" and they don't necessarily need to fulfill the order. I've ordered a few things on Amazon (both US and UK) where the item was obviously mispriced. In some cases, (the Mogwai that was mentioned earlier) they'll send out the item. Most likely because they didn't lose any money on it. Other times, the order just stays open and isn't fulfilled or Amazon just cancel it themselves. Earlier this year, Amazon was selling a Japanese import Kinks box set for $16 (it should have been priced at least $125). When the release date came along, the status of my order was "still awaiting stock". After a few days, I got an email saying that they couldn't get the box set in stock and they cancelled my order. I looked on the website, and surprise surprise, the box set was shown as available but for the right price ($125). Like I said, it's hit or miss. Sad to say, they probably would have fulfilled the orders if only a few people ordered but seeing as the link was already put up on various websites, I wouldn't be surprised if they just ended up cancelling on orders. I recall Chemikal Underground selling it for significantly more plus shipping and places in the US being about double. The math works out about the same. dreamover Posted April 16, 2009 Share Posted April 16, 2009 i talked to the label. they said the whole thing is delayed. they said they are expecting them in, in about a week or two and that preorders FROM THE LABEL will go out right away, stores should start getting them a week or so later. that means, the amazon UK thing doesn't seem to be due to the cheap price YET and that those dates really do make sense.
