kylet
I've never gotten around to starting a tradelist. I'm going to start one very soon, but I'm having some trouble choosing who to start one with. I've got it narrowed down between Dead Format or Check My Vinyl. Any pro's or con's for either? I like CMY's set up, and picture option. I know a lot of people use DF. Help me out.

travis
CMV. Only site Ive ever used and never had a single problem with it. Love the picture option too.
borosel
deadformat allows you to add pictures
geezfools
I used to be a big CMV fan, but it's a little harder to use then deadformat in my opinion and now that DF has picture uploading, no match in my opinion. Plus the amount of users that DF has keeps me there, though I haven't been updating lately.
kurtz
Dead Format is better in every way.
listentovinyl
^ yeah, what he said... its like comparing ground beef to filet mignon.
adamlikesmusic
Dead Format was alright until they updated the format of the lists. I used to use Dead Format and HYE, but now I'm using just HYE. Of the two you listed, they're both similar. It's a matter of which you'd rather use. Just Another Tom
I have used Record Nerd and Dead Format. In my opinion Dead Format wins hands down, i just wish they didn't auto sort alphabetically, throws all my "The..." bands out.
sharkticon
GoogleDocs. Anyone know what's up with DF not updating record/artist entires anymore? There's nothing new and no option to update entires for months.
wakeupandlive
i just started using dead format. i like it.
fordocumentationon
I started out using record nerd, but then lost my list. Now I use excel and I just copy / paste into DF.
smailtronic
I started with both CMV and DF tradelists, but it got too time consuming to keep up the CMV list. DF is much simpler, and easier to use.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Deadformat. As for not updating, I think they are going to get back to doing that soon.

kylet
deadformat allows you to add pictures yeah but isn't it a separate page? i just really like the set up on CMV. i like the small picture at the end of the list, and how you can click on it and get a full view. its just a very clean organized look. i don't like how you can't take any of the columns out. i really don't care for a "willing to trade" column. and as far as DF having more members, i'm not that concerned with members. i'm just going to put the link in my signature on here. i don't really care about having friends on my tradelist website. everyone on here seems pretty set on DF. other than the "copy record to your list" option, what sets it above the rest? I don't use it for friends, it's just nice to search if I'm looking for something. One search box searches all of deadformat, where with google, who knows if I'd ever track down a record that way. The new limitedpressing site might be my new tradelist site though...
