ericheartsu
does this mean i can stop paying $400 a month for health insurance?
dcstrange87
Yes, except now you have to only shop at IKEA and eat Sweedish meatballs, you know, because we are now all socialists. All kidding aside I am excited. We are finally moving forward after eight years of standing still and taking steps backward. It isn't perfect, but it certainly is progress. AlexH.
i personally think it is good politics when the president and voters say that once a bill passes we can all find out what is in it. thank goodness for a 2700 page bill that no one has read just passed adding 30 million new people to health care. its gonna be great not getting into the doctor anymore, but hey at least now we are covering people on welfare, and those who dont have jobs, THANK GOODNESS does not want to pay for the idiot who drank all his life and now needs a new liver. Or for an abortion because she's "not old enough to take care of a kid". But then again, why in the world would people need to be responsible for themselves?! oh liberals... I'm leaving for Canada as soon as i can..building up a militia with all the people who dont like this and then go to washington. Wont get far but hay..right to bare arms is next to go. Then freedom of speech I love having conservative Facebook friends!!!

lokithelion
It'll be about six months before you start seeing any good come from it. Republicans delayed so even if it passed people wouldn't get benefits before Nov. Bill still has a lot of shit that needs fixing, but these are the few good things it'll do within the year. http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/what-you-get-when-hcr-passes

erikaboom
I was with a conservative friend at the time this was announced (at a basketball game of all places) and she acted like it was the end of the world. But hey, she has never NOT had health insurance and has never had to struggle for anything in her life. I'm a teacher and chances are I may not have a job come this next fall. I don't mind working in a restaurant or office or whatever, but I'm really worried about losing my health care. I have asthma and NEED those meds. I think I am a good example of the average American struggling to have health care. Eric as well. He runs his own business. It can't be easy to be covered.
