Alphabetically by band name, chronologically by album release, and I file splits under the band I either like the most or have the most records from. jimmythescumbag
When all of my records were organized, they were: - alphabetical by artist, comps listed under various artists - chronological for each artist, regardless of pressing date - splits listed as: a-side artist/b-side artist I do not look forward to re-organizing, but it is always fun to do. moonbeams
girlfriend's records first, then nonpunk stuff so she can access it all, then punk stuff alphabetically. though I pulled down everything last week and arranged it all by colors of spine to form a rainbow. that was cool, but not very practical

mcm1610
Ya know, with all the joking about "autobiographically" that pops up... how the hell would that even work?
jimmythescumbag
Ya know, with all the joking about "autobiographically" that pops up... how the hell would that even work? My guess is chronologically, as in when you got the record. The first record you bought/got would be the 1st and the most recent purchase/acquisition would be last. I would love to do my collection like this, but it would just be one big clusterfuck.
