The Receiving End Of Sirens - BTHATS coming soon

Recommended Posts

I messaged Triple Crown Records in a long shot effort to license The Receiving End Of Sirens - Between the Heart and the Synapse and it's a already in the works. Supposedly the art was approved on Tuesday and it's going to be a special Triple Crown release. I am very excited. There's no time frame though so this might not happen for a while.

I liked this album, but I would love it a lot more if they cut some of the songs down. It realllllly drags. Part of the art of writing an album is keeping it as condensed as it needs to be. I have no idea where I read it, but I remember reading a quote from some singer saying "if a song is 4+ minutes long, it had better damn well HAVE to be 4+ minutes long."

This band should listen to that.

It's a really well-done, cohesive album, but shit does it drag.

Word. +1 for you. While colors do look cool sometimes (that Boxcar Racer red and black looks pretty sweet, as does that record in the test press whatever thread someone just made), I think the novelty has worn off, and I wish records got back to being more about the music on them than the vinyl it's on. Sometimes I get mad at myself for having a column for color on my record list.

I have not listened to this album since the year it came out, but I played it to death that year. I'll probably grab it for sentimental purposes, but I agree with mcm1610 on all the filler this album has.
