chlihead
there is always a schmuck who beats you..... http://gizmodo.com/5038783/worlds-largest-record-collection-is-worth-50-million-no-one-wants-it-for-3-million
zak138
his store was such a drag because you couldn't actually look through any of the records. You gave him a list of what you wanted and he'd tell you if he had more than one copy and how much it was.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
eBay (or limited pressing) that shit. Fucking fat ass doesn't want to do any work.

axlrose
How long has be been trying to sell this collection? 3 years now?
oakland
It's the collector's dilemma. Do you collect for yourself or for profit. Most people will be disappointed to find out that no one wants their records, no matter how much they are "worth." In my mind it's only worth what you can get for it. rtw88
I have to wonder who appraised the collection and how. I'd assume 95% of the records are worth less than a dollar. And yeah, no one wants 3 million records that they'll never listen to.
bmsaareagles
Is that Stones one really worth that much money? Cause I have it..... It doesn't have a name on it so I just marked it as rare promotional tracks on my deadformat trade list. So is it worth that much???? caitlinryan
The tone of that write up is stupid. "No one wants my record collection, everyone hates vinyl, boo hoo." For a lot of people the joy of collecting is, you know, the collecting part. Most people who are serious about collecting vinyl don't have $3000 to throw down at once on records, let alone 3 million dollars for god knows what nonsense. I'm sure there are a lot of awesome gems in there, but even the 3 million doesn't even begin to cover how much it would cost to transport and sort all that shit. If so, it books for $3,000 in NM condition. But there are imports of it as well.

So I guess I do have it... COOL!

Dillhole
I'd love to thumb through that collection. He'll never sell it as a complete lot. He'd be better off selling maybe 1-2 thousand at a time, even though that would still take a while.
jtoth000
you could easily sell those on ebay you would just have to sell them in sets or one by one.
