krisakarcher
i'm very new at this whole vinyl thing and i keep seeing these picture discs all over the internet. they seem to be cheeper than a regular record. what exactly is the difference? is it better or worse? sorry if its a dumb question but all the answers i got on the web were confusing as hell. eddieruckus
its basicaly a record pressed with a picture inside of it, some argue the sound isnt as good, some records were only pressed that way, Im not a huge fan, but own a few

Derek™
its basicaly a record pressed with a picture inside of it, some argue the sound isnt as good If you can get both versions, I would in fact argue that the pic-discs make better wall ornaments than records. *edit* Ruh-roh. Someone disagrees with an opinion? No good. Simply no good!
hickey
The Riverdales - Tarantula picture disc sounds better than the regular vinyl versions.

It always makes me smile when someone calls out another person for a misspelling and their post has a misspelling of its own. Not to mention the atrocious punctuation and lack of capitalization. It's referring!
kyleevanswastaken
Picture discs are a way to spend more money on a record and get less ( usually no jacket just a thick plastic sleeve)
justaminrthreat
And some of them, like the Rancid picture discs don't have a B-side, so it just ends before the actual album is over.
krisakarcher
Thanks everyone for the answer. And also for the Grammar lesson. Both are appreciated.
mot
yeah ive rarely noticed that horrible of a sound I think older ones (1980's) sounded worse as they were mostly thinner. A piece of paper smashed between 2 paper thin pieces of vinyl doesn't sound very good.
